Delighted with our stay at the Clonakilty Hotel. Very good value, staff were brilliant, very welcoming and seemed to have a real interest in their guests. Owners told us they only had the hotel a few months and by the looks of it they've done great work in the short space of time. No complaints with our room even though we were informed that the floor we stayed on has yet to be renovated. We had a meal included with our stay and it was fantastic, I asked for a sauce that wasn't on the menu and the chef was happy to make the sauce for me. The breakfast was made to order which made a nice change from the usual crap dished out at buffet breakfasts. Would definitely return to stay in this hotel, perfect location to pubs and restaurants.

Hotel is for sale! No facilities other than b&b, rooms are small and not up to standards!

Very disappointed. Was to stay two nights but booked out after one night. Should not call itself an hotel. Glorified BB. No restaurant to have a meal on our arrival. No bar very disappointing. Staff were friendly which was about the only thing going for it. Room very small and the tv was on the ground. Gave me the password for internet connection but no coverage what so ever. Not very satisfactory in this day and age. Very, very disappointing and will not be staying again or recommending it to friends. I know it was cheap but should not be advertised as an hotel. p

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel itself was very disappointing in that it didn't actually have a bar ,you could order a drink and the staff would get it and it could be consumed in the lobby. Grand for a b&b but as a hotel was poor.

Booked this hotel for Sat of the October weekend for myself and my husband, was fairly confident about this hotel as had stayed there previously, however from the moment I arrived I knew we had made a mistake. There was absolutely no atmosphere around the reception area, no fire lighting or welcoming feeling and the doors to the bar and eating area were closed shut. We couldn't believe it that there wasn't even a bar where you could sit down and have a drink. It was like a hotel on the way out and really was only a glorifed b&b. There is a for sale sign outside no wonder there is no interest. No leisure centre open also!!! Myself and my husband wanted to have a bite to eat on arrival but we were told no food available only breakfast, what a dissappointment. When we arrived to room we got smell of smoke in room which is quite off putting being non-smokers. The rooms are tired and are crying out for re-decoration. We couldn't wait to leave and were very dissappointed will never go back to this hotel it was so depressing. D&D score 1 star

Small bit like faulty towers No heating in room had to use duvet from spare bed to keep warm One of us had to hold the connector on the bath while the other had shower TV down so low you had to strain to look at it Went for breakfast at 10.25 with breakfast finishing at 11 and told no more fruit salad available Having said that the staff were lovely and we still really enjoyed our stay The hot breakfast was good and the homemade brown bread was fab Our meal was in the restaurant down the road which we thought was a bit unusual but turned out to be great The food was YUMMY The atmosphere was lovely and again the staff were excellent We're staying in Clonakilty in a couple of weeks time in a different hotel (booked before we stayed in the Clonakilty Hotel this week) and we are going to go to the Costelloes MALTHOUSE restaurant again because we enjoyed it so much We will stay in the hotel again to give it another try as it is definitely Location Location Location

Nice rooms, basic but roomy. Modern bar. Sister resturant Costellos Malthouse is definitely worth a visit and highly recommend it but we didn't enjoy our stay in the hotel. Even after quite a few drinks ourselves and going to bed at 2am, we were kept up all night with noise, no phone in room to ring reception and complain. After about 2 hours sleep, we went for breakfast and they run out of food! Very disorganised, new owners who need to get their act together. They could do with security or a seperate doorman as people were in the hotel that weren't staying there, the barman was under pressure to serve everyone and keep an eye on the door and also they need to get more breakfast in! I would not at the moment recommend this hotel to any of my friends ro family after the experience we had.
