There was renovation works going on during our stay ...I think we should have been notified before hand ...the room we booked was far to noisy so we asked to be moved to the other side of the hotel that wasnt a problem but you could still hear the works going on .There is not a whole lot to do in the town of Skibereen...but anywhere we did go the people were very welcoming .

Went to the west cork hotel with my husband for women's little Christmas, while the hotel is quite old it is meticulously clean and decor throughout is perfect and is in keeping with the hotel. The bedroom was totally adequate and the bed very comfortable, shower and bathroom were spotless and having the towels on a heating rack added to the comfort. Breakfast had an excellent selection and all the staff were polite and helpful. Will definitely be back again very soon. Thank you.... Q
Beautifully cost retreat in stormy December. Lovely staff and fantastic location in the middle of the town. We were there to attend a family funeral. A fleeting visit and a serious occasion so we were all the more appreciative of the warmth of your hospitality. One note for improvement - for all venues - please consider offering veg based spread instead/ along with heart clogging butter. Thanks for a great experience and looking forward to our next stay

This is a lovely hotel, and a great location to explore West Cork. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The restaurant and bar are excellent, breakfast great selection and good choice for evening meals. The staff really stand out and are a credit to their employers and the hotel they represent. We are really thankfull to the hotel and staff for making our stay so enjoyable JB

A nice hotel that has its own personal homely charm. Staff are very accommodating and friendly. Rooms are clean, breakfast was very good with several options including vegan alternative. I had dinner on 2 of the nights and also very good. A perfect base to explore West Cork.

Another fabulous break away in the lovely west cork hotel form start to finish the food is excellent and all the staff are so helpful couldn't but not recommend this hotel enough especially Joan the lady behind the bar she is absolutely a gem what a lovely person she made our stay so enjoyable thanks again Joan regards paul Manning

My wife and I stayed in the stunning West Cork Hotel for our 10yr wedding anniversary last weekend. What an amazing hotel. Firstly, a mention for the staff. Warm, friendly and incredibly accommodating. Great people running a great hotel. The food is exceptional, great value and incredibly tasty. The location is ideal also, walking distance to everything Skibb has to offer. I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel any higher. You will have an amazing stay, and will be completely refreshed.
Lovely stay, no issues. Had a lovely dinner in the Snug. Room very nice and comfy with all the usual amenities. Would definitely stay here again when next in West Cork to where we are regular visitors.

Very disappointing indeed. We actually refused the room we were allocated as, in our view, it was a single room. The room was so small that we could not pass each other walking normally round the double bed. There was only one chair between the two of us, the wardrobe was so small and in such a tight space that a door could not be fitted, sliding or otherwise. The bathroom had no toilet roll holder just the holes in the wall where one should be and a pile of toilet rolls on top of the cistern. One of the lamps did not work and we had a splendid view of a rusting box-girder bridge from the window. When I complained we were offered other rooms to look at, we declined because we could not understand why we were allocated this poor room in the first place if other accommodation was available in accordance with, what we would understand to be modern rather than out-dated hotel practice. In our view the environs of the hotel were grim and the interior dingy. Looking at the web-site of this hotel our expectations were rather dashed. The only good outcome was that they had the grace not to charge us. We managed to acquire alternative accommodation at the Celtic Ross Hotel up the road, that hotel had the same star rating but in our view there was a world of difference. We had a previous deal from you that was superb value with great accommodation and this bad experience will not put us off booking another with Lidl Breaks, However we will never go back to the West Cork Hotel or recommend it to anyone.

I am writing this review of The West Cork Hotel to highlight my experience. I recently travelled to the hotel with my own with a baby. After booking from Lidl breaks I contacted the hotel in advance to request a suitable room (even though we had an ‘offer’) the hotel obliged and provided us with a wheelchair friendly family room. It was fantastic not having to manage steps/opening/closing doors etc. The hotel staff are amazingly helpful, courteous and friendly. They could not have possibly been more obliging –our every need was catered for. Food in The West Cork Hotel is simply fantastic. Breakfast is served. The hotel celebrates local produce. I have no hesitation in recommending The West Cork Hotel- our stay there was too short!! Thanks to everybody that assisted us it was greatly appreciated.

Had an absolutely incredible stay here over a wet, rainy weekend. Can honestly say that the staff are some of the friendliest I've experienced and my girlfriend remarked that at times it almost felt like you were in someones home they were so warm and helpful. The food was delicious, with the freshly cooked breakfasts and a huge range of lovely breads and extras served until 12 a real highlight. We left this hotel sure that we'd one day come back and I couldn't recommend it highly enough. Good value doesn't go nearly far enough to describe it.
Room a tad small, but the hotel is beautiful, very centrally located and the food is top notch. Staff are also very helpful...highly recommend.

This Hotel was great, the staff were very friendly & helpful. Food was A1. We would definitely go back again for another break very soon & recommend to my friends & family. My one complaint was that there was no lifts in the section off the Hotel we stayed in and we are Oap"s. Had a great weekend over all look forward too are next stay

Stayed at the West Cork Hotel in June. Had a great time there. The hotel is in the town and has a good parking area. The food was out of this world and the bar had good music the night I was there. Staff were very friendly. Skibb itself is near some great places such as Baltimore just a 10 mile drive away.
A charming friendly hotel. Our room had a River view.The beds were really comfortable, and the staff took the "extra " effort which made us feel so welcome [freshly baked gluten free bread for me, and advice on texting for my companion! ] The meals were excellent, and Skibbereen sparkled in the sunshine. We had a fantastic stay in The West Cork Hotel. I stayed with my three sisters. The rooms were superbe and well sized. The staff could not have been nicer. The food was beautiful and there was a good variety each night. The food was also well priced. I would have no hesitation in recomending this hotel to anyone. I was very happy with the price, it was excellent value for money and will be deffenatly using Lidl Breaks again.
