Felt unlucky to have a Disappointing experience allocated an old room (shower did not work), looked nothing like pictures on-line. An unsettled night due a very disturbed guest beside us. Not impressed with receptionist unmeaning "Sorry " on check out.

We were very happy with the Carrigaline Court Hotel - location was great - right in the centre of town. The bedroom was spacious and very clean. Bathroom was spotless. Heating in the bedroom was controllable which was great as we have found this not to be the case in many other hotels. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. Pool & Gym were well equipped and maintained. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a stay

Angie scored 5 / 5 on 13/09/2016

We stayed on the hotel at the beginning of September 2016 and we found the hotel staff on arrival to be very helpful and courteous. The room was bright and airy and not too warm which is what we find with most hotels. The leisure centre facility was great. The hotel was ideally located for visiting Cork city for shopping and sightseeing in Kinsale among other places of note. I would definitely book into the Carrigaline Court Hotel again.

I recently enjoyed a weekend break in The Carrigaline Court Hotel . It is an ideal location for both shopping and sightseeing. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the food was lovely. The rooms were spacious, the decor in the rooms a bit dated but spotlessly clean. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to my friends and I hope to stay there again in the future.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and were very satisfied with the whole experience. The receptionist was friendly and helpful on our arrival and later on whenever we had questions or requests. The same was true of restaurant and bar staff. The bedroom was comfortable. The food in the restaurant was good. We made good use of the swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi. Overall great value for money.

Anne scored 3 / 5 on 21/09/2015

Hotel was comfortable and clean and we had a pleasant 2 night's stay recently. The food in the restaurant was of a high standard but we were very embarrassed on our first night to be handed one set of menus and having chosen our meals to be handed another set of menus because we were on a package. This was compounded by the hotel insisting that Lidl had only booked us in for B&B wheras we had written confirmation of a Dinner, bed and breakfast booking which the hotel then accepted. They did apologise for these mix ups but it was all a bit embarrassing. Apart from these difficulties the hotel was fine and we were happy that they were able to provide a smoking room.

Martdecay scored 5 / 5 on 18/09/2015

I stayed for 3 nights, the room was excellent, bed extremely comfortable and clean. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. I ate in the hotel bar one night, food was excellent and staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

Gpbutler1975 scored 5 / 5 on 08/09/2015

Can't fault the hotel at all. The three course meal for two included in the deal, was very nice. Staff and facilities were excellent and I would have no problem in recommending the Carrigaline Court Hotel or Lidl Breaks.

Jane scored 3 / 5 on 23/08/2015

My son and I had a two night stay recently. Rhe hotel was very conveniently located and very clean. Staff were very nice, in particular Fiona who was our waitress in Collins Bar. ....there were one or two things that we didn't enjoy. ...no one was the swimming pool was far too small and very busy and most upsetting for us was the fact that I had requested a room with the best possible view but instead we got the worst possible view of an orange corrugated wall and a not so clean glass conservatory roof. ...very disappointed with this. Such a shame

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Very friendly efficient staff. Good food. Good value. To be recommended for further visits.

Liz scored 3 / 5 on 21/04/2015

I was delighted with the hotel and considered it good value for money. We made use of the swimming pool, hot tub and sauna and all were well organised with towels provided. Staff were nice and food at night was superb. I wasn't keen on the breakfast that you helped yourself to, I thoght the quality of the food wasn't the best but it was an option to order omlette and fried or boiled eggs or porridge. The room was very clean and nice and quiet at night. We used the hotel as a base and travelled to Kinsale on both days for the chowder food festival which we really enjoyed. I will use this hotel again

Michael scored 5 / 5 on 21/04/2015

lovely hotel would recomend.staff very helpfull

Maeve scored 4 / 5 on 20/04/2015

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The lack of WiFi was a bit of a hassle but as we had data on our phones we got by. The breakfast could do with a little pep - the toast was not toasted just hard and the cooked breakfast was fairly tasteless. Having said all of that I had a really good nights sleep as there was no late night noise. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Shizz scored 4 / 5 on 03/04/2015

We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children staying for 1 night in two rooms. First impression driving in to car park was it had a nice exterior so expectations were high and we were not disappointed upon entering reception. We were efficiently checked in by a lovely receptionist, she was both informative and welcoming. The rooms are pretty identical to most hotels in the country but nevertheless, they were most comfortable . We used the pool a few times during our stay and it was a very enjoyable experience. The leisure centre staff were all very friendly and helpful. We ate in the bar that night and the food was top notch as was the service. It was very busy when we went in but after a while it emptied out. We stayed on for a few drinks after dinner but were disappointed to hear there was no live music that night. As we were staying with children we didn't have the option of wandering down the town to check out the local hotspots so retired to bed early. Breakfast the next morning was also good. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel to anyone looking to visit the area

Marian scored 3 / 5 on 01/07/2014

Staff friendly and very helpful. Also very informative about the surrounding areas - places to see and visit etc. Little disappointing that guests were expected to have their drinks out in the foyer when the bar closed - expected that residents would be re-admitted as standard. Also no musical entertainment on either Friday or Saturday - perhaps this was due to the world cup football matches however these were over early enough to facilitate some form of live entertainment.

Brenda scored 4 / 5 on 18/06/2014

very friendly place. All the members of staff we met were very nice and friendly. The evening dinner was nice and restaurant pleasant. We didn't eat there the 2nd night as we thought the menu was a bit expensive. Taxis from hotel into Cork are 20 euro. It cost us 25.70 from the train station to the hotel. The swimming pool and other amenities were clean and well maintained.Staffed by friendly young men. There didn't seem to be a lot to do in the locality from what we saw. The alarm went off in the room twice, quite early in the morning. It was really loud and gave us a terrible fright. The room was stuffy and our view from the window was a concrete wall. But all in all, it was a pleasant place.

Jimmy scored 5 / 5 on 29/04/2014

very nice hotel, stayed for 2BB+EM, staff in every area were very nice and helpful, room was very clean, as was the entire hotel, one thing I really liked was the private changing rooms in the leisure centre, great idea if you have little boys with mammy in the changing rooms and if your weight conscious like me, Lidel Meal menu was limited BUT all the choices we made were tasty dishes-would go again and would recommend this hotel, only grip would be the town of Carrigaline-its dirty and depressing-seems like the heart has been ripped out of it,but this hotel is a great base point to tour area.

Mackenzie scored 4 / 5 on 19/03/2014

great location, perfect for touring the area and very short walk into the town, the live entertainment was spot on, the food in the bistro was excellent, along with the very helpful staff, we could not fault their professional and friendly attitude, the room was very well laid out and comfortable, the only minor issue was the shower curtain, much prefer an enclosed shower, but that is my personal taste. highly recommended, we will be back!

My husband and I stayed in Carrig Court Hotel Carrigaline, for one night, We were very disapointed as the minute we entered to check-in we were eartaged as the guests on a special package, (which we didn't really appreciate) We were encouraged strongly to eat in the bar in preference to eating in the Dining Room as we had a 2 course meal included in our special package, when we insisted dining in the dining room, we were handed a different menu to the other guests who weren't on a package, and if we attempted to order from Ala Carte menu, it was a 10 euro charge. Room very basic ( Would not stay here again).

Mediocre hotel in the small town of Carrigaline, with easy access to the beautiful towns of Crosshaven Kinsale and Cobh. Staff were v friendly and helpful. The quality of food was to an excellent standard. The only downfall was the hotel itself. The family room, which we stayed is was v small and quite grubby. The shower was v old. Overall a good experience, let down by the room.

I stayed last weekend with 3 friends for our annual weekend away together & we were all very happy with our stay. The rooms were very clean & comfy, as was the hotel in general & the staff couldn't have been more friendly & helpful. The food was very good (better 2nd night than 1st) & the restaurant itself has lovely furnishings & lighting. The only reason I would not give 5 stars is that there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms and as we are enjoying some lovely weather right now it meant the rooms were stifling hot, even with the windows ajar.

We stayed one night and got a spacious well fitted bedroom with very comfortable beds. The hotel is located in the suburbs and has no grounds other than the car parking areas. The Bistro restaurant has a very attractive full height feature window over looking the streetscape and gives great light. We had and early evening meal and had a delicious selection of freshly made home breads. The pâté and a warm duck salad were generous, very tasty and nicely presented. The main courses were very poor and had to be sent back. My wife had a beef lasagne which was burnt and I had a Thai green chicken curry which had tough chicken and large bits of carrot and courgettes and was not what I expected. The cooked breakfast was again very disappointing, the toast and hash browns were limp and soggy and the remainder of the breakfast was tasteless and had been sittinging in the food warmers for a few hours.

Thanks to Lidl get away breaks I was able to book a night away for a family gathering at short notice. The price of the break away was fantastic which included breakfast. As I was on a very strict budget the Carrig Court Hotel was not low budget accomidation. Service great, friendly and very clean. I will stay there again and highly recomend to family and friends. Future bookings anywhere I will try first the Lidl website. Well done all round.

We are just back from a three night stay and had a wonderful stay at the Carrig Court. From the moment we arrived the staff at reception and through out the hotel were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We ate in the Bistro Restaurant on Friday and Saturday night and the food was very good except for the same veg. each night. On Sunday we had our evening meal in the bar as the restaurant is not open, this meal was also very good, although the pasta was very over cooked. We really enjoyed our stay at this 4+star hotel and will be back,it was great value for money weekend and we have already recommended it to family and friends.

I am just back from a 3 night stay in this hotel. My partner had a seminar nearby in Ringaskiddy so I went for the break! We stayed Thursday to Saturday inclusive. The hotel is in the town of Carrigaline with all pubs, shops etc. just a few minutes walk away. The bus to Cork city which takes approximately 20 minutes goes from just outside the hotel. The male receptionist who checked us in was very friendly as were all other staff we dealt with. Housekeeping staff etc. always said hello etc. We ate bar food one evening, which was nice and priced basically as all other 4 star hotels. We also had carvery lunch before leaving on Sunday. I am a vegetarian and they had 2 options available at the carvery for vegetarians; vegetable stir-fry and vegetable curry. I went for the curry which was nice and my partner had the roast beef which was also nice. They had the menu for the carvery written up on a blackboard but the vegetarian options were not included on it, I had to ask. I would recommend the hotel to include the vegetarian options on this as I was going to leave without asking as I thought there was nothing suitable for me. The room was the standard 4 star, tea/coffee making facilities etc. The breakfast was good, the normal selection of hot/cold foods. The bistro where it is served is nicely decorated. I would stay in this hotel again.

Mary scored 5 / 5 on 24/09/2012

The hotel was really lovely, very comfortable and excellant value for money. All the staff either at reception when you arrived, in the bar or the dinning room could not be more helpful or friendly or efficient. I would recomment this hotel to both my family and friends. The facilities and the food were also of a very high standard. 5 star

Reviewer45248728 scored 4 / 5 on 11/09/2012

We arrived at the Carrigaline Court Hotel before our check in time and we were immediately given our rooms. We asked for our rooms to be located next to each other and this was done The rooms were spacious, clean and well ventilated. Both breakfast and dinner meals were tasty and portion size acceptable. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and in the bar on the alternative night. The only negative I can report is that we had a slight wait for our starter on the first night, but the manager apologized to us for the inconvenience and gave us a complimentary drink to compensate the wait. The Leisure Centre was clean and relaxing. All the staff that we encountered during our stay at the hotel were at all times pleasant, helpful and professional. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples or families when next visiting Cork.

Stayed here for 1 night on 1st septemeber. I would not stay here again. It has a four star rating and this makes me question who hands out the ratings. this is not a four star hotel its a very under average 3 star. Good points: Girl on reception was friendly when we checked in and out. Swimming pool and jacuzzi were nice Breakfast was quite nice Bad points: Bathroom sink was dirty with dirty scum on the sink and the shower was hard to control Not enough towels supplied. Pillow cases were grubby looking and had hairs on them The window sill was dusty as was the dresser and lockers We had a smoking room with no ashtrays when we requested an ashtray we were met with a snarl from an ignorant dark haired receptionist who we interupted from using facebook! The rooms are very spacious but not in a good way it needed some finishing touches like a bedside lamp or workstation lamp. it just looked very bleak and sparse. Getting served in Collins Bar was a bit of an endurance test as the waiters were more interested in serving local people or watching a rugby match than actually doing their job. Once we did get served the food was alright but the menu is more than limited. Be warned! Stay somewhere else

Most enjoyable break. We really couldnt find fault, asked to have room changed because of view, and it was done immediately. All the staff were most helpful and friendly, breakfast was lovely, and rooms spotlessly clean. Would recommend Carrig Court hotel to anyone. Well done to all staff! Definitely 5 star

Staff and service were good. First impression of the room was disappointing. Clean, but not 4 Star standard. Damaged, old furniture. Damaged paintwork. Extremely warm room with no air con. Satisfactory for the purpose, but not a 4 Star Hotel. The restaurant and reception are what probably carry it.

We had a brilliant stay at the hotel. The hotel was spotless and clean. The staff were lovely and the food in the bar was gorgeous. The price for the food in the bar wasn't too expensive either. The room was also very clean. I would definately stay there again and i would have no problem recommending the hotel to any of my family or friends.

We stayed in the Carrigaline Court on Saturday last 30th June and couldnt fault the hotel in any way - the gentleman on reception was very pleasant and helpful, the hotel and our room was very clean and bright and the bar food was also very good, as was breakfast and the facilities in the leisure centre. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Carrigaline Court. Carol (Tipperary).

Hi, my girlfriend and i stayed there for two nights and we were very pleased with this hotel, everything was lovely, the rooms, the leisure facilitys, the staff, the food. The only bad point i can make is that we had 3 different members of staff enter the room while we were in the room but once we placed the do not disturb sign on the handle outside no one tried entering. Very nice hotel and area, we wud stay there again.

We stayed in the Carrig Court for four nights with our young son. Great location for touring east Cork- close to Kinsale, Fota, Crosshaven and the City- although there is nothing in Carrigaline itself. Food was nice in the bar and breakfast was nice although it is a buffet so some breakfast items will be soggy! Kiddies swimming pool is nice and warm so great for babies and the changing rooms have changing tables and playpens, which is great. The gentleman on reception over the weekend was very accommodating and pleasant The room was spacious with a sofa, armchair & coffee table. Bathrooms and general decor rather dated, although clean. On the morning of departure, there was NO hot water for handwashing/showering, which I discovered after getting into the shower. Reception advised that they were doing maintenance and so there was no hot water. I expect hot running water in a hostel, likewise in a 4 Star Hotel. So, when there isn't any hot water and you have just had to endure a cold shower, I'd expect a decent apology.... perhaps that the hotel staff would acknowledge that it is incredibly stupid to do maintenance on rooms where there are paying guests, and to not at the very least inform them. Instead we got an incredibly rude receptionist who seemed not to see what the problem was. We left the hotel absolutely fuming with her attitude and vowing never to stay again- a shame as we have cause to be in Cork regularly and had decided we would use this hotel as a base- the receptionist changed our minds!

Excellent hotel, very enjoyable stay. Couldn't fault the staff, hotel room or the restaurant - the food was excellent. Was a bit disappointed the restaurant wasn't open on the Sunday night, the bar was packed and very noisy, so we ate elsewhere. Would defiinitely visit again - have recommended it to others.

We stayed at this hotel June bank holiday weekend and have to say that the staff were excellent, they were all very friendly. The hotel is spotless as they have an army of cleaners doing a great job. The bar food was excellent and not over priced. The only issue was that there was kids running around the bar area after 9pm and the management didn't seem to mind.

When one item was too spicy for my wife they got her a replacement and allowed me to eat the spicy food. Breakfast was good and had good choice. I especially enjoyed their brown bread and scones.

Im sorry its taken me so long to write this review, a group of 7 girls stayed at The Carrigaline hotel in January we went for a friends Suprise 50th Party she lives in Cork, the party was on the saturday of the weekend we arrived at 6pm on the Friday evening after a long Bus journery from Dublin, Our check in really quick Peter was on Reception and he told us where everything was in the hotel, Bar, Resturent, Swimming pool, ect. Our rooms were really lovely nice and big with two double beds, as there were 7 of us there was a trible room and it has to be the biggest room i've ever seen in a hotel, after we setteled in we went to the bar for a bite to eat food was lovely, we headed back in to cork city with a lovely Taxi man who we booked form the bus station, as our friend was out and about in Carrigaline. Cork City is a great place on a friday night. when we got back to our hotel we had a night cap in the Residence bar. Next morning we went down for breakfast what a spread Cereal,Juices, Lots of different breads all home made,Fruits cheeses,Samon, Rashers, Sauages, Mushrooms, beans, and your eggs were made fresh and brought to the table. I Recomend the omelet fill you up for the day. The Resturent itself was layed out lovely with a big bay window. The swimming pool looked lovely we did not get in. The town of Carrigaline is like a small village with a few shops, Pubs, ect. We had a great time at the party our friend was so surprised to see us all. I recommend this lovely hotel to anyone staying in Carrigaline.

We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed it. On arrival we were welcomed by an extremely efficient receptionist who signed us in with a minimum of fuss and informed us of the facilities and dining times and directed us to our room. Later the same receptionist gave us a run down on the local restaurants and their own Bistro. Breakfasts were excellent and so was the Bistro for dinner. Our room was well equipped, clean, bright, warm, overlooking the main street and quiet - not a sound once you closed the window. Check-out was as efficient as check-in. We will definitely return

Stephen scored 4 / 5 on 07/11/2011

When we arrived we were given "dinner vouchers" which we were told to give to the restaurant when we arrived for our meal, from the outset this made us feel like we were being treated differently to everyone else, the room we were allocated originally on the 1st floor was adjacent to the smoking rooms and which were nothing like the advertised picture and it was also stinking of smoke, however after raising the issue with staff we were moved to another room more in keeping with the one advertised, in the restaurant there was very little in the way of vegitarian options with no pasta option which I found very unusual, we were offered the seperate "all inclusive menu" and we were told that if we wished to purchase anything from the proper menu it would cost each person an additional €10.00, after bringing this to the attention of management we were then offered a vegetarian option from the main menu but this also had no plain pasta option. The food and service was second to none and all staff must be complimented for their willingness to help and their freindliness, portion size was more than enough for one person and the food was very well presented, the hotel over all was clean although the one issue I might have was not changing the bottom shhet on the bed as this was very badly stained.

Hello Even though we enjoyed our stay at the hotel i have to say i was disappointed in the heating arrangements you have ,when we arrived the first thing i noticed the second we walked through the door of the recention was the coldness of the area.We went into Cork City for the afternoon and when we came back around 5.30 the hotel was still cold i contacted reception in person at 5.45 and at 6.45 the heating had still not been turned on I had to take a shower and get dressed in a cold bedroom as we were going for our meal at 7pm.I left a note in our room with my phone number and as yet no one has contacted me i though we might have been given a free drink at least but that did not happen. Dear Sirs. Unfournately we did not get to stay in the Carrig Court Hotel due to the fact that it was overbooked. I booked on line using the lidl break web site because it stated the hotel had vacancies,I filled out the application gave my credit card details and emailed it off. I got an email back confirming my booking and the deposit was taken from my card. We then organised our baby sitter and made all the necessary arrangements. Then the hotel rang saying they were booked out for that night, apoligised and refunded our deposit. They claimed the lidl website was incorrect to be showing vacancies for that particular night. We were extremely disappointed to be let down in this way as we had enjoyed an excellent lidl break in Dungarven in July. Yours sincerly, Gillian O Keeffe.

We had a lovely stay at the Carrig Court hotel. The staff were nice and friendly and the buffet breakfast was amazing- such a selection of hot and cold food! Our double room was a fairly good size and perfect in every way as regards cleanliness and light as it had two large windows. It was also nice and quiet as we were at the back of the hotel, it was a saturday night and there was a wedding on but there was no excess noise ! The hotel's Bistro restaurant has excellent food and a lovely atmosphere. I can't really find anything negative to say about it , overall we had a lovely stay!

We had a 1 night B&B and 2 course dinner break in the Carrig Court Hotel. It was very enjoyable with good quality room, meals and very courteous service. We had 2 small issues during our short stay, one being the shower jammed on and took 1/2 an hour to turn off and the second issue was on arriving back to the room at night the door passes would not work. Both these issues, while inconvenient, were handled efficiently and courteously and would not stop me recommending this hotel. With all the deals available from various websites at the moment I still feel the LIDL breaks are the best value and the easiest to arrange .

We stayed in the Carrigaline Court for three nights. It is a fantastic hotel, it operates a very high standard of service and yet is not pretentious or cold. Without exception the staff were welcoming, helpful and very friendly. The food in the bar is excellent and the leisure centre is well equipped and well run by very dedicated staff members. I really have nothing bad to say about the place and we will definitely go back sooner rather than later. Unbelieveable value for money.

The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The food was great both for dinner and breakfast. The only negative was the bedrooms were very basic and a bit old fashion. Old style TV in room which was not clear. The steak I ordered in the bar was burnt, which the waiter replaced, but my husbands was finished his meal by the time I got the replacement. They didnt offer any discount for the inconvenience. Apart from this our stay was very enjoyable.

We had the bar food the first night and there was a great buzz to the place and ate in the bistro the following night...the food was absolutely gorgeous! I would really recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a lovely hotel at a really good price.

Nicky did not use the leisure center but would agree with other comments on the food (Bar best athmosphere) staff great. I agree that they gave us the old rooms which are along way from reception. Having spent 3 nights in th Carrigaline Court Hotel in ay, I would give it a definite 10 out of 10. The staff were really friendly and helpful,. The facilities were top rate, and the food was to class. The service in the Restauran and Bar was efficient and friendly. Hope to get back there inthe not too distant future. It was extremely good value for money.

Marian scored 4 / 5 on 30/06/2010

We stayed in the Carrigaline Court in June 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We found the weekend break through Lidl breaks to be of excellent value for money. On arrival we were given vouchers for our evening meal for both nights and these vouchers entitled us to 3 course meals. You can use the voucher in the restaurant or in the bar so we ate in the restaurant the first night and the bar the second night. The food in both places was very nice and portion sizes were good. The menu in the restaurant was a limited menu whereas we could have had anything on the bar menu, although a %u20AC5 supplement applied to the steak.. We had our 3 month old baby with us and the hotel provided us with a travel cot which was in the room when we arrived. We did not avail of the leisure facilities but the hotel seems to be well equipped. The hotel is in a great location as Cork City is easily accessible as are other parts of the county like Crosshaven, Cobh etc. We visited Fota Wildlife Park on Saturday which was about 20 mins away. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and professional. The only criticism I would have is that we seemed to be an older part of the hotel which had been refurbished so our accommodation seemed a good distance from reception and the rooms were not those shown on the website.......however I must say that the rooms were fine!! I would definitely recommend the hotel to others.

The hotel was generally clean and well cared for although the same could not be said for the leisure centre. The "superb jacuzzi" was full of grit and dirt which got into everything and made me feel very uncomfortable. Although the surrounding in the restaurant were quite pleasant and the staff attentive, the food was flavourless and very average. There were a few good things about the hotel but not enough to make me want to re-visit the Hotel in the future.

Cat scored 4 / 5 on 29/06/2010

The room was spotlessly clean, staff very friendly, food was good. We ate in the bistro but the bar seemed to have more atmosphere so that probably would be a better choice. Carrigaline is nice but there wasnt a lot to do there apart from a few nice pubs. Crosshaven and Kinsale are not that far away and are really nice to visit. Check out Currabinny Wood for a walk across from Crosshaven. Would probably stay here again if I had to visit the area.
