Nice hotel, staff friendly but the food in the hotel was a let down. Very basic for hotel standard. Nothing near the hotel. Lough Rea is beautiful but nothing else around it. But it was a nice break away otherwise.
Very happy with the service just a point to mind our cups were not refreshed in our room used cups we used were left, otherwise happy.
Lovely hotel. Bedrooms were great. Plenty of room. Very clean. Staff very friendly. Food very good.
Fabulous hotel and a great base to explore Galway & surrounding areas from, our family room was extremely spacious with a balcony & lovely view of the lake. The beds were really comfortable, great sized bathroom, dinner and breakfast were both delicious, staff were friendly and welcoming, couldn't fault it! Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again.
Had a lovely weekend in the loughrea Hotel. Staff are so friendly and helpful, breakfast was very good and bedroom was comfy, will be back ????
Large comfortable rooms. Very dark in the bathroom. Good selection for breakfast although hash browns were like a rock and inedible (reheats possibly). Plenty of fresh fruit, pastries, pancakes, waffles and the full irish. Had dinner in bar. Pan fried Hake was nice but the salsa was way too salty. Beefburger was lovely but chips were too salty. Chef is a bit heavy handed with the salt.
Lovely place and lovely staff
We sent the day in Galway & wanted to relax. The Lough Rea hotel was perfect. We had a large bedroom with a comfortable bed. We had dinner in the bar there was a great atmosphere, lovely dinner & most important the staff were professional, helpful & friendly.
The Lough Rea Hotel & Spa is a lovely place to stay, the staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious, and the breakfast was amazing so much to choose on the menue. I would highly recommend a stay this Hotel.
Spotless hotel, friendly staff, good food, we really enjoyed our stay
The Lough Rea Hotel is a wonderful Hotel with spacious rooms, excellent staff & great food, highly recommended
Stayed as a family of 4, had a fantastic time. Kids loved the room and really enjoyed Netflix in the room, bar food was fab. Only downfall was breakfast on our last morning, we went down early knowing the hotel was busy and to avoid a wait but after a 45 minute wait we had to leave without breakfast :( it was the weirdest thing it felt like staff were avoiding us, no explanation was given as to why our breakfast order never came out and when we did get up to leave, no one asked us if everything was ok, I had to inform the staff we were leaving to be told 'I think its ready now' but at that stage with 2 small kids we couldn't wait any longer. Lovely lady on reception on departure did offer us something before we left but again kids were ready to go so we had to go. A lot of staff on but didn't seem to know what they were at. Wouldn't discourage me from staying but next time would probably book room only.
My husband and I booked the Lough Rea Hotel & Spa for a quick 2-night mini-break during Feb mid-term. We were checked in by Ana who was very cheerful and extremely professional. We were pleased with our room and found the beds, VERY comfortable. The food was good although, I must admit, I did feel a little disappointed to have to pay a supplement for the Pancakes, bacon & maple syrup (they did make us aware of this when we ordered). The full Irish would definitely have cost more than the ingredients for the pancakes and the 3 pieces of streaky bacon that arrived with the 3 pancakes! The breakfast and food overall were very tasty though. We had an issue regarding noise from the fan in the bathroom and when I mentioned it at the reception the first morning, we were very kindly offered to move rooms. We chose not to as this was not what we wanted and had only mentioned it to them so they could have maintenance ready to look into it before they had someone else check into the same room after we left. On the final morning, I spoke with Mary and also let her listen to the recording of the fan that I had taken. She was so nice and very attentive. She assured me that maintenance was ready to sort the issue. Overall, the staff were so helpful and extremely friendly and cheerful. I almost forgot, on the first night, there was a Traditional Irish Session after dinner which was really good. It was so lovely to hear live music again, especially as Trad music is my husband's favourite!! We will definitely be staying again in the future. Thank you to everyone whom we came across on our couple of days,
We arrived for family mini break and we had a surprise in our room chocolate brownie with happy birthday in chocolate on the plate what a lovely touch for my daughter who was celebrating her birthday. We had dinner in the restaurant that evening everything was wonderful from the service to the presentation of our food and the taste. We had a lovely time, there was a major delay in breakfast service the 2nd day and the dinner on 2nd night was the same very slow over hour waiting for dessert. However the food was first class. ????
We had a lovely few days away just relaxing . The spa was amazing as was the staff. We had our meals in the hotel food was good and thd friendliest of staff they couldn't do enough Would highly recommend this hotel.
It’s a nice hotel. I have to say the staff are very helpful and polite! 10 out of 10 there,
We had a great stay. A really nice hotel and great food. We dined in the restaurant twice and had breakfast every morning and we were happy. The staff are all lovely and helpful but the service was a bit hot and miss, probably due to younger, untrained staff- but like I said they were all eager to please and any minor mistakes were corrected quickly. Great value for money, I would recommend!
Lovely hotel but a bit understaffed
We just found the whole ambience cold.! The roof top bar was not opened to have a quiet drink. Our dinner was just ok. It is not a kids friendly hotel. The family room was spacious with plenty room but it needs a revamp. The best part of the night stay with my family was the morning breakfast. The breakfast food was nice. The morning/breakfast staff were friendly Got a cocktail and paid 15 euro which was a rip off.
Great hotel excellent staff
Booked this hotel because of the lake views? we didnt see it, having said this maybe visible from other rooms, The hotel was fine, rooms clean, bathroom tidy, restaurant was well managed food was lovely,
My room was huge there are a few minor things because we had food vouchers we were ushered to the rear of the restaurant for meals some of the staff were lovely others were sour our last night the room did not get cleaned I would not stay here again but maybe other folks would
Great hotel beautiful food staff very helpful
Lovely hotel, staff very friendly.
Clean and tidy hotel, Staff friendly and helpful.
We really enjoyed our stay. Room, restaurant and breakfast were great. Staff were so helpful, they all were very courteous and really helpful to us at all times. We hope to be back soon Frank
Lovely hotel and spa staff very nice and helpful
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. All the staff were lovely, actually. The complimentary water in our room, and daily newspaper was a really nice touch. We were a bit disappointed that the rooftop bar wasn,t open, but a lovely hotel overall.
Excellent stay. Rooms very clean. Staff were excellent.
Excellent hotel staff excellent very friendly and helpful, breakfast and dinner were superb, best steak we had cooked perfect, rooms clean and lovely view from room
Absolutely lovely hotel. Rooms immaculate, food brilliant, staff very helpful and friendly. Will definitely return. Highly recommend.
Good food. Clean bedrooms. Great staff.
Lovely hotel and staff. One of the nicest breakfasts ever. The kids had the Prince and Princess afternoon tea and loved it. Room was fabulous with air conditioning (godsend!) and with a beautiful lake you really don't miss having a pool Would absolutely return
Had a fantastic night at Loughrea Hotel and Spa. The staff were exceptional in both the Hotel and Spa. The food was top class. Fantastic value for money. Cant wait to return.
We were extremely happy with our stay, on checkout we booked to stay again at the end of July, the hotel should be very proud of their staff, every person we encountered went out of their way to be nice,Leonie on reception is a credit to the hotel. We are looking forward to our next trip already!!!!!
Great hotel, lovely staff and very clean.
Really nice hotel enjoyed our stay really great value on mini breaks thanks
The staff in every department were very friendly helpful and efficient. Our Room was spacious and spotlessly clean. We were on a 1 night dinner package and our food was amazing especially the buttermilk chicken starter :). My one little minor complaint would be the extra charge of €5 for pancakes for breakfast especially when you are on bed and breakfast package our first time coming across this! as said though minor. Lovely stay.
Loved the hotel. Fabulous food very friendly and accommodating staff . Hotel very clean. It's a great base for visiting Galway and Athlone.
Absolutely a fabulous stay, food was amazing and staff were so friendly. The hotel was spotless and the restaurant and roof top bar are a delight to have food and drinks in. Highly recommend
Big rooms, lovely food and right next to the lake which has a park, which our 3 year old loved
We had a pleasant stay, large well appointed room breakfast was excellent
Noise at the back of Hotel at night was very distracting. It affected my sleep. Food was beautiful and the dining staff were so hard working and absolutely lovely!
Professional staff, observing covid hygiene with temp check, hand sanitizer, one way system and distancing in restaurant
We had a great two night break, it was perfect for the kids, they loved the fact there was Netflix in the room so it was a winner straight away. The food is top range there and great choice of menu also, we will definitely stay again. All Covid 19 standards were adhered to, very well done to the team involved in the hotel, I would definitely recommend it...

Very nice hotel. Well prepared for all civic rules. I watched waitresses cleaning down tables and the whole area of leather seat before resetting. Felt safe. Lovely food. With civic allow extra time for dinner. Great outdoor area to eat with huge heating system. Enjoyed breakfast and dinner here. Nice lakeside walk near hotel. Twenty minutes to Galway. Rooms fine with everything we needed. Fair prices for everything. Will return and would recommend.
This hotel was a gem of a find, wonderful staff, clean, comfortable, spacious room, great Wi-Fi, delicious food, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you to the staff for doing such a wonderful job.
Clean room, missing a bed for one of the children on arrival but had it sorted within a few minutes. Service is bar was hit and miss, had to ask numerous times for multiple things as they forgot to bring them. Food was ok but nothing special
Fab hotel rooms spotless. The spa is over priced at €20 per person for what it is it should be free to guests. The rooftop bar area was closed due to covid that was disappointing. The staff are fantastic will stay again
Lovely hotel Our receptionist was so warm and friendly, the food was great, breakfast was lovely, The room was nice and clean, only small complaint was we were moved in the restaurant to make a place for the music, we were at a place near the outside door and it was very cold, we asked to be moved when we saw a free table, other tables complained about the cold too.
Loved this hotel. Had been before. Doing their very best under the new guidelines we live in . Very helpful, kind and you feel valued. Wish it had a pool! We had a lovely room. Grand food, Emma in the dining room was very good to look after us, a great manner and brilliant to our 2 small children.
Lovely spacious room , good food . Thought there was swimming pool because of the Spa facility . Think it should be stated more clearly - no pool ????.
Staff were lovely and helpful. Room and food was basic. I did look for a room that had a seating area as we had a toddler with us which couldn't be facilitated - this wasn't a big deal to be fair. Bins were not emptied in the room and no housekeeping obviously due to Covid 19 but we could have received some information on this as we stayed for 4 nights. Restaurant mixed up our dinner order (3 issues with one meal) and food was just ok.
Nice hotel, clean & the staff are very friendly. COVID restrictions mean there is a longer wait time at breakfast. Food is good & reasonably priced. Good base to see the sights around Galway
We got a spa package but were disappointed when we couldn’t use the thermal suite or the showers , or dark room. Think that should have been reflected in price as it was only a treatment we got. Lovely treatment but wasn’t the day we were expecting. The hotel room was lovely
I stayed at this hotel with a friend last weekend. It was extremely well run considering the restrictions they had to comply with. Our room was very spacious and had nice views. Food was fabulous and staff were superb. The only thing we were disappointed with was that we were billed for some food and drinks after the weekend that we had already paid for, including 2 drinks that should have been on another room. Louise in catering apologised for this mistake and confirmed it would be refunded straight away. She also said we would be looked after should we visit the hotel again, which we will.
This is a lovely modern hotel on the outskirts of Lought Rea town, the hotel staff were very helpful a made the stay very comfortable especially while working through social distancing
thought this was a lovely busy hotel rooms were lovely and big food was great and staff were wonderful even though there seem to b under pressure.
very good 10/10 staff, food, room cleanliness, area , facilities everything , just one small small thing i was a bit shocked on the price of the small white wine spritzer , i have never paid 7.70 before , but over all Will stay there again Mary Keane
Very nice spacious and welcoming hotel. Staff very efficient and helpful. Just in the outskirts of Loughrea and approx. 30 mins drive to Galway city. Food was very nice and excellent service also. Would recommend this hotel.
Lovely hotel, food nice, staff nice, but not much to do in loughrea in the rain!!
Beautiful Hotel with big rooms. The service was very good and the roof top Bar is fantastic.
Excellent, great hotel excellent spa. Restaurant very good
Lovely hotel, food & staff excellent! The only reason for not getting 5 stars is no swimming pool (I know this isn't their fault but would be a game changer for them) & no kids club even though it was during the easter holidays.
Lovely hotel, friendly staff and great food!
Top class hotel enjoyed our stay rooms were very clean and the food was just amazing will be back again.
We really enjoyed our stay. We got a great deal that included an evening meal. It's a nice , clean modern hotel with large bedrooms. Be aware it doesn't have a swimming pool and use of the Spa costs extra.
Excellent hotel - room was great size and food and staff were excellent. Will visit again.
Stayed in the hotel last Saturday night.25th of April.Really enjoyed our stay.Hotel staff were so friendly and our room was lovely. Dinner in restaurant was so nice. Would recommend this hotel for a break. Well done to all. Liz from Cork.
Hi was staying in hotel last Friday and was very enjoyable stay . Rooms very big and nicely decorated with very comfortable beds. Delicious food and very friendly and helpful staff . Spa- had a hot stones back massage - very nice and professionally done . So overall experience 5 stars.
Five of our club members spent 2 nights at the hotel, the break included dinner. The hotel was just great, we had connecting rooms which was fantastic, the meals were wonderful. We books spa treatments which were better than we could have wished for. The staff in the hotel and spa were just so nice, we are definitely coming back as soon as possible. The location of the hotel is great and Loughrea with the lake walks was beautiful, it was definitely the nicest hotel we stayed in over the last few years due to the staff.
Beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff and the food was lovely! Ideally situated to use as base to get to Clare and Galway city. Would go back again and recommend to others!
The spa charges 20e per person to use the facilities. They don't mention this in advance so we turned up at the spa with our towels and swimsuits and were turned away. They don't let you eat in the restaurant, the two course meal is in the bar. They are renovating so there were a lot of building works going on. The girls at reception were friendly and the quality of the food was good.
I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 2 girls for three nights. The hotel was very clean but the hotel rooms were very warm and stuffy even though we had air conditioning on. Breakfast was very poor, no choice at all if you don't eat a mixed grill. However our evening meal was good, lots of choice but very disappointed with breakfast.
Very enjoyable few days at Lough Rea Hotel and Spa . The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was lovely The rooms were very spacious and very clean .
Quiet location with easy access to Galway, staff were all very friendly and helpful, nice clean rooms and the food was excellent. The only bad point was the poor wifi reception but apart from that the hotel couldn't be faulted. Will definitely be back.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, room was very clean with lovely view of the lake. Food in bar was really nice and good choices, I'd especially recommed the chicken wings! One criticism I would have is the WIFI is awful Would definitely stay here again though, more than worth the price we paid so thank you.
The Lough Rea hotel ticked all the boxes for us. Friendly staff ,modern and tasteful décor both within the hotel itself and the rooms. Rooms spacious and they were accommodating with adding an extra bed for our son. Food was good. I would have no problems recommending the Lough Rea Hotel
Hotel was lovely great buss around. If I was to complain it was the room was a little dusty i.e. inside the red lamp.Otherwise it was great. food was lovely and very affordable. Ellen 2
Hotel was lovely, all staff extremely friendly. Food in the Abbey restaurant was just top class and exceptional value considering the offer. Bedroom felt a little neglected and needs bit tlc or major clean.
The hotel is very modern, the rooms are spacious & comfortable. Food in restaurant was very good. The bar food was very poor, The roast beef was dried out and so was the steak. We asked for plain pasta for a child and were given pasta covered in sauce. We sent it back. We requested a dessert for our child from the children's menu and were informed that it was not available as the menu was an old one.
The hotel itself is clean, bright and modern and the staff were efficient on arrival. The room was really lovely, plush, modern and clean. The bed was superbly comfortable. During our stay we ate in the hotel all the time and we found the bar food to be tasty and reasonable, but the food in the restaurant far surpassed any hotel restaurant food I have come across in such an establishment. It really was delicious. I had a spa treatment and used the spa facilities afterwards and felt thoroughly relaxed. As there is not much to do or see in Loughrea (that we found) you really should pick this hotel if you plan on just holing up for a weekend. The thing that stands out more than anything is the staff employed here. They were personable, extremely friendly, nothing was too much trouble and they were a pleasure to deal with.
Spent the weekend with my husband and 20mth old son. Staff were always very pleasant and helpful, hotel decor lovely and modern. Those were the plusses. However...the window in our second floor bedroom were not sealed properly and the noise of the wind kept us awake the second night we were there (it was particularly blustery outside). In addition, the draft was so strong the curtains were moving although the window was fully closed. My son now has a bad cold which came on when we got home - probably from the draft because he was sleeping in a travel cot. Another drawback was the meal in the restaurant on the Friday night. I had to send it back. I odered cod which came with mash and a side order of veg. I had asked for the sauce for the cod to be on the side but when i got my plate, there were scoops of mash in a circle with the sauce poured all over it with the fish sitting on top. The mash was hard and flakey on the outside and clearly had been sitting for a long time ready to go with the sauce already over it. The bowl of veg (green beans, carrots etc.) came from a frozen packet and it showed. The green beans were dried up and shriveled and the carrots were discoloured and white because they were so old. If that wasnt enough, the dinner was only warm - not hot. I was totally turned off the food and ended up eating a few chips that I asked for after sending the meal back. The breakfast the next morning was ok but not great. The bacon was again left so long it was hard and dry, much like the eggs and the other cooked breakfast options. Everything looked as though it was cooked at 8am and, if not eaten, was going to still be there by 10.30am when breakfast finished. Thankfully, the rate we got was so affordable that we didnt mind paying it. However, I would have been disgusted had we been paying full price for what we got. Again, I can't emphasise enough about how good the staff were - the meals and the very drafty second floor badly let them down. I'm awarding the three stars for the modern decor, Playtown and the lovely staff.
I really enjoyed our stay at the hotel last week. Our room was beautiful with a view of the lake. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Our dinner and breakfast were both lovely. My boyfriend and I would highly recommend this hotel for a romantic weekend away.
Stayed at the Logh Rea Hotel overnight last Wednesday 4th of September Found the hotel to be very comfortable and the staff extremely friendly and efficient. We did not have dinner in the restaurant but just had bar food instead which was very nice and very reasonable. The bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely view overlooking Lough Rea. All in all great value. Richard Kiernan.
We are a family of 4 (2 young childern) and we thorougly enjoyed our stay at the Lough Rea hotel. The accommodation was excellent, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. We dined in the bar and the food was very enjoyable. The hotel is in a great location for Galway city and Westport. The immediate surrounding area was idea for the kids as we very near the lough and playarea. Overall we would recommend this hotel and location.
Really nice hotel.. Great price for a 2 day break.. Staff were really helpful and lovely to us...food was great too.. First time staying here and we shall definately be back... Absolutely recommend it to anyone..
Very positively surprised with the hotel standards and service level...exceeding expectations by miles :)
Stayed here recently on a girlie weekend with two friends. We were very impressed with the spa & treatments. All hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We were disappointed only in the restaurant, the steaks arrived warm, not hot and we could not attract the server's attention to send them back. However, I would recommend this hotel to others based on service and price.
We had a lovely stay at the Lough Rea hotel. The receptionist and restaurant staff were very friendly. Rooms were quiet and nicely decorated, and the hotel in general was stylish. The spa was nice but a bit run down- most of the relaxation chairs didn't function and other than magazines, there were no extras like fruit juices/nibbles, head phones etc. While the buffet breakfast was just okay and service quite slow, the evening meals in the restaurant were excellent. We would stay here again and recommend it to others.
we spent 2nights in Lough Rea Hotel, it was a beautiful place very modern, we had a family room which was excellet standard. i had my 2 children with me so there was plenty of room. the hotel staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly.food was beautiful and very affordable, we would most likely stay there again.
my wife and i stayed in loughrea hotel and spa in april. Hotel room was lovely and clean and nice decor, dinner was lovely but a little slow service, breakfast was lovely. Spa was great and relaxing. Staff were friendly and pleasant. over all a very pleasant stay and would go again and recommend it to friends.
My boyfriend and i had a lovely time at the loughrea hotel, our room had a lovely big comfortable bed and a very clean Bathroom, the dinner was average but we got get value. I def stay there again
Excellent service and very warm welcome by staff. Family room, adequately spacious. Very close to Galway city
We stayed in this hotel for one night over St. Patrick's weekend. We enjoyed our short stay. Lovely food and friendly staff. We would have no hesitation in going back again for another break in the near future.
We found our stay at the loughrea hotel & spa to be very pleasant and relaxing. We ate in the restaurant on Saturday eve. The meal and choice was very good. Staff friendly . Room was lovely. Cleaning staff a bit over anxious to clean room on sunday morning. We woukd stay here again Barry O'Sullivan
Stayed in the Lough Rea hotel and Spa recently and had a lovely stay. Staff were lovely and helpful from the beginning. Beds are extremely comfortable and rooms cozy. Went for Dinner in their restaurants twice and was impressed with service and food both looked and tasted delicious. Tried out the Thermal Suites in the spa which were a very reasonable price at €15 if staying in the hotel. Was a lovely relaxing experience. A great choice and would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
Perfect. The staff are very friendly, the food is mind blowingly good, really excellent. Comfortable bed and the view was beautiful. Can not reccomend Loughrea Hotel and Spa enough
Had to swap rooms because of the noise of the function room at the back of our room. The first room we were in had a faulty tap that sprayed water everywhere, the shower didn't work, the bathroom fan didn't work and the room wasn't exactly spotless. The staff in the hotel seemed to mention the fact that we were on a Lidl break quite a lot. We were greeted to the restaurant for our meal by the words 'you're on a Lidl break' which was baffling and annoying. The restaurant menu was really poor on choice and sub-standard for a 4 star hotel. No steak or chicken. Our second room was better than the first, was cleaner and we had no noise. However I would not stay in this hotel again. we've used Lidl for at least 10 hotel breaks and this is the first one that we felt we were being treated different. Wouldn't go back to the hotel.
Myself and my husband stayed in this hotel for two nights on the 4th and 5th January, during which time I also had treatments in the spa which were really lovely. Our bedroom and bathroom were very nice, and all the staff we dealt with were also lovely. The only thing I would have to say was disappointing was the meal we had in the restaurant on our second night, the choice was very, very limited and my main meal was a big let-down. The bar food had a much better choice and in hindsight I would have eaten here the two nights.
Had a fantastic stay in the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa. Booked a girly weekend for myself and 2 friends, would highly reccomend it . Staff are very efficient and friendly, room was very comfortable and clean. The spa was wonderful and we all availed of different treatment packages that were on offer, very relaxing! The food in the restaurant was lovely with the only complaint being that there was little or no vegetarian option available! The restaurant wasnt open on Sunday evening but the option to eat in the bar was given. The bar food was excellent and when I ordered a medium rare steak and it came out slightly over done it was immediately replaced and apologises were given and the additional charge was removed from the bill. Would reccomend the Lough Rea Hotel to stay in if you are looking for a quiet relaxing get away, we'll worth the money.
YRoom was perfect and town was queit perfectly close to galway city Really nice staff felt food in restauraunt could have been more realistic prices
Just spent a weekend in the hotel & spa ,had a great time ,hotel is clean and modern, spa is excellent, had small issue with a faulty window on arrival but was fixed straight away .Staff are friendly .location is very handy to the town.
Stayed in hotel at beginning of November, two nights b+b plus two evening meals.Had informed hotel before arrival that it was our wedding anniversary and was warmly greeted on arrival and swiftly upgraded free of charge to the bridal suite!!! Food was of good quality and staff attentive and friendly, entertainment in the bar was geared towards older clientelle so didn't spend much time there. The suite we stayed in was fabulous but a liitle chilly, needed to have the air-con on quite high to heat the room.Very little noise at night time so was able to relax and sleep no problem. Good location near to town and would recommend a visit especially in the summer months. Thanks again D F.
Stayed for 2 nights with 3 friends (2 Twin Rooms). Really enjoyed our stay. Hotel was modern, clean and staff were really helpful and friendly. Rooms were a good size and spotless. Anything we asked of reception (problem with tv and sink plug!) was dealt with straight away. Had bar food first evening and it was lovely. Had dinner in the restaurant the 2nd night, starters and main courses were fantastic - really tasty and very well presented. However desserts were disapointing and that is usually my favouite course! Apart from that couldn't fault restaurant, service was superb! One area that I felt they could improve was breakfast, the layout and selection wasnt great. Missed all the juices and fruits the first morning as they were "hidden" in the bar! Overall it was an enjoyable weekend and would go again!
Very good location just a few minutes of the M6. Nice lake view. Spa area excellent with very friendly staff Dinner good value and quality Good room size Only downside: shower in disabled room flooded half the bathroom. Water leak from ceiling.
lovely hotel with perfect rooms and nice spa, our dinner at restaurant was disaster - waiter was very very arrogant, food ... starters were ok, but dinner was just disgusting, we did not take a risk to order desserts. breakfast was excellent for the change in the hotel's spa they have special offer but .... not for clients from lidl-breaks, so we are not very welcome there really.
Excellent hotel, couldn't fault it
very nice hotel excallant staff will be back dave.ann
Stayed in Loughrea Hotel and Spa on the 22nd of September, Booked B&B, Nice hotel ! Staff could not be anymore helpfull. We availed of the Spa which although a little compact was more than adequate. Ate in the hotel restaurant, good choice of food , I had the duck which was lovely, my Wife had the Cod which was also excellent. Bannofie Pots for dessert - very tasty and superb value @ €25 euro for 3 courses. My only gripe with dinner was that my fancy biscuit which was sitting on the saucer beside my apres dinner coffee was crushed - i love to dunk ;) Entertainment in the bar was lively and the beer was good, smithwicks @ 3.80 a pint. and the hotel was busy which created a nice atmosphere. I would definatly stay here again, and recommend it highly.
Stayed at the Lough Rea Hotel recently for three nights with my partner and two children. First impression of the hotel was that the entrance was quite dirty, with ashtrays overflowing at the entrance, it looked like they hadn't been emptied for some time. The hotel itself was well designed and quite modern, the furnishings and decor were all good quality and very contemporary, but sadly the hotel is let down by the low standards of cleanliness, especially in the common parts. For example the carpet in the dining room was always covered with bits of food, on the last evening what looked like a chunk of chewed up old beef was on the floor next to our table. The bedroom was well equipped and a very good size, however it would have benefitted with a good vacuum as it was very dusty. The problem overall in the hotel seemed to be a shortage of staff. It was a shame, as the standard of cleanliness overall did not reflect the four star rating, this could easily be resolved with a few extra staff and an overall deep clean.
hi was totally delighted with our 4 night stay in lough rea hotel and spa lovely hotel will definitly be back many thanks
Very nice hotel ,friendly and helpful staff ,toilets and rooms and overall hotel kept very clean.good food menu all day.indoor play area for kids came in very usefull and was good fun .little problem with wifi but got by. Overall no problem would go again .
My wife and I stayed for a night on the 14th of july, when we checked in, the girl at reception ask if we would mind the noise as our room was over the disco. She said we could change rooms now or if we waited untill later we would have to stick with the one we had , so we took up her offer and changed . Our room was big and spacious and positioned at the back of the hotel I plugged in my laptop as I am self-employed and need to be in constant contact with my work but we could not connect with the wi-fi , I went bac to reception and reported this and I was given a long lead to plug in to the wall and my laptop , but this did not work either . We went down to the bar and had a drink , Guinness was €3-80 a pint and wine was €5 a glass. That evening we had dinner in the restraunt , my wife is vegaterian and was catered for quite well , I had fillet of beef and it was beautiful. The next morning when we checked out we noticed €10 was added to our bill , we questioned it and was told that it was a supplement for having the fillet of beef for dinner the evening before (strange) . We found the staff were excellent , the food and drink were second to none ,but the extra €10 was strange and seemed quirky ,. It is a great place to stay for a holiday but I was using my stay for business as well as pleasure and as our room had no internet I lost a great deal of work and money during my stay .
First the positives; we had our infant son with us during our stay at the Lough Rea SPA hotel and found the rooms exceptional spacious and excellent value. In addition, the staff were both pleasant and efficient. On the negative side, the description of the Hotel states that "Each of the rooms has views of the lake or out over the surrounding countryside". This is not true, as our room had a patio door with a concrete wall facing us. The view from the balcony wasn't much better and certainly didn't contain countryside or a lake. The Hotel itself is very much within the confines of the town and the description is misleading, because it suggests a countryside location. We paid for our dinners and B&B for both nights of our stay, but the restaurant was closed and so we had to eat in an area adjacent to the bar area, which again was disappointing.
I can'tsay enough nice things about the lough rea hotel and spa..the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was immaculate, and very comfortable. The food was immpeccable. I cannot fault this hotel at all and enjoyed our stay immensely, and willy return.
outside is a bit tired looking, needs a tidy up hear and there staff pleasant rooms clean nice view
top hotel , romms are big and comfy nice bar with good foodand very cheap for a hotel , would go back to stay again , has a night club with free entry it u=your staying in the hotel which was great , all the staff were very helpful
Superb hotel, Superb Staff, Superb Food
Went last weekend with my husband, 2 year old son and family friends. Family size room was perfect and also opened up the door between the 2 rooms, balcony's also very suitable for children. Play centre attached to hotel which was ideal when weather got bad. Only downside was the restaurant service. Our deal was for 2 nights B&B & 1 evening meal. Restaurant did not open until 6.30 so we took the first booking however children's meals come from the bar rather then the restaurant and because it was so busy it took over an hour to get them. Adults were finished their starters and half way through the main meal by the time the kids came.... needless to say they were not happy .... apart from that I woul highly recommend the hotel and would definitely go back!!!!
Excellent weekend break, fantastic hotel but credit should go to the staff, two weddings during our stay, their attention to detail was exceptional, book the Lough Rea, food and staff just what the doctor ordered.
The hotel was lovely. The staff very friendly. A very enjoyable weekend. A great spot to base yourself to see the country. A visit to Woodville House Walled Garden is highly recommended.
Very comfortable bedrooms, nice breakfast & bar food menu, we stayed Paddy weekend & this was a good location to surrounding areas that we were visiting. Staff were pleasant & helpful. Great value in the Spa also.
lovely room good value
A GREAT CHOICE, EVERY ASPECT OF THE HOTEL WAS JUST FAB, ROOMS/BAR/FOOD. COULDNT HAVE BEEN BETTER. WE WILL BE BACK.
I couldn't speak highly enough of my stay here. The staff were both extremely friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, the bed was amazing and the food was fantastic. The only negative is that there wasn't enough vegetarian options on the menu. All said and done, I'll definitely be staying here again.
Excellent hotel, room was lovely, food was amazing the beef was to die for, only one little issue, noise from the nightclub, didnt get to sleep till 4am due to people singing outside and below us in the hotel. Staff were excellent, particularly the restaurant manager, he was very accommodating and excellent manners.
Very nice and comfortable hotel and fabulous spa. The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Excellent Hotel. Nice rooms. Stayed as part of Lidl package. Food in restaurant was top class. Waiter was knowlegable on menu and wine. Overlooking Lough Rea may be a stretch of description.
Very nice spacious rooms with modern design, very clean. Staff was great, although food was not for a 4 star rated hotel. I would not agree with the description of website hotel's location. Before overlooking the ''majestic'' Loughrea Lake, your view is cought by a less ''majestic'' 1 acre of empty landfield with ''majestic'' debris. Well, hotel is situated at the edge of town after all.
lovely hotel ,staff friendly, beds very comfortable , athmosphers in bar great. was overcharged for dinner and didnt realise till i got home would still go back and bring kids next time playcentre looks great.
fantastic hotel could not fault a thing we went for my sisters 40th birthday there was 21 of us the meal was fantastic , so where the staff , and the rooms were georgous and the bar never closes fab nt will def be back thanks a million caroline ODoherty
staff in restaurant need better training.trying their best but need to be told how to do their job.waited too long for our childs dinner to arrive.bottle of white wine we ordered was not chilled.all theses things just make the dinner experience bad.
Nice airy room with comfortable beds. Hair dryer wasnt working but one phone call to reception and a replacement was brought to the room within minutes! Bar food was good, staff friendly. Signage to the hotel is poor though, hotel coordinates would be handy!! Requested them by email prior to travelling but recieved no response.
Myself, my husband and 2 children stayed for 3 nights mid August. The beds were very very comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful but for a 4 star hotel the breakfast was not up to a 4 star hotel standard they were very plain indeed.
It is a lovely hotel, family friendly, good location and lovely food. I hadnt time to try the spa but it looked lovely. Good facilities in the room, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, tea, coffee and air conditioning. Lovely big comfortable beds. Good value
I booked in four Australian friends for 2 nights from 12th August. The Hotel did not let Ireland down and they were very happy with their stay in the hotel during part of their country tour. Thank you.
Great manager, great service, great food!!
this hotel is definitely a three star hotel. The fire alarm went off during the night and when I flagged it at reception she denied any knowledge of it. There was also a shower cap covering the smoke alarm in the room, obviously the previous guest was a smoker. Shocked that the cleaner didn't see this. My mother had called one days previous to my arrival to put a gift in the room. There was no gift in our room and when my mother called the hotel, again, she had no knowledge of it. Some serious lack of communication going on here. The spa was nice except for some broken spa chairs and doors unhinged from cabinets. Hotel in need of some attention. Probably would not come back to this hotel.
Very nice hotel and staff were friendly. Breakfast very basic for a 4 star I thought but think it was just because hotel seemed quiet when we stayed, did not sample bar food. Kids place next door was closed Monday and Tuesday unfortunately when we stayed there but they did get an hour on the morning we left and they really enjoyed it. Think it is open all summer from now on.
We stayed in the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa on the 15th and 16th June, the hotel itself is fabulous. The staff are very accomodating and you always got a warm welcome in the bar. However for a four star hotel the food was awful!! We were given a different menu to everyone else because we were on a 'deal' but that wasnt the problem, when the food came out it tasted like it had been leftovers from earlier and heated up!! Although I would like to point out the food was the only downfall during our break and you couldnt beat Lidl breaks for value for money.
had a lovely stay, hotel was lovely staff very nice. The only problem was a disco on the sat night and family rooms are situated over the disco area which was very loud, luckily kids slept but it was at least three o clock when the place quietened down. great value for money
We had a lovely stay....All the staff were very friendly. Rooms lovely. We requested two rooms and they gave us interconnecting rooms which was great.....would definitely return..
Five women stayed in the hotel last week-end, 10th June. We had adjoining rooms which were very spacious and clean, beds were very comfortable. Staff of the hotel were excellent in all areas. The food was also very good, we ate in the bar on Friday night and in the Restaurant Saturday, the menu was more varied on Saturday night which was great given the excellent value for money with the Lidl breaks. Everyone agreed it was a brilliant stay and we would not hesitate to go back.
We stayed here last weekend for 2 nights. I really couldn't fault the hotel in anyway. The service was great, food was lovely and the Spa was a great place to spend a lazy afternoon. We would definitely return.
Had a fabulous stay in this hotel recently. Room was very spacious and comfortable, beds were extremely comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast each morning was fantastic with a great selection of food. Food in the bar was nice although service could have been a little better, asked for veg instead of salad and was given salad, our sons drink never arrived and had to ask a different staff member to get it for us, but apart from that there is nothing negative I can say about our break. Great value for money, would definitely return and would definitely use Lidlbreaks again in the not too distant future.
Had relaxing weekend away with my mother, used Spa which was lovely, good meal in bar. Friendly staff in bar & wait staff very helpful. Breakfast could use a little effort, not a 4 * breakfast, Lovely room. Comfortable bed etc. Good atmosphere in bar as Heinekin Rugby final was on.
we had a great time, staff were very friendly, great value for money cant wait to go again
We booked a family room on this deal on a "spur of the moment " decision and rang the hotel so ensure our booking had gone through. We can only say we have a wonderful stay and the room was absolutely spotless. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was beautiful and great healthy options for the kids. The buffet breakfast the next morning was very generous and tasty and we checked out feeling full and ready for our day. The staff were all very friendly and you really couldnt ask for more from a hotel . Well done Loughrea hotel and spa. 10/10 .
We enjoyed our stay ,good value for money. We would rate it a four star.Weather was also in our favour.
I booked this hotel for myself and my boyfriend as a gift for after his exams. The hotel was extremely impressive from the outside. The hotel was extremely busy when we arrived as their was a party on. The room was lovely with a nice comfy bed. When I went to the restaurant for the meal included they told me the restaurant was closed so we had to go to the bar. The bar was completely full there was one table left with only one chair in which I had to stand for someone to get us another. In regrads to the actual menu it was very limited. The bar was absolutely packed with our table being in the middle of a 30th party in which we were trying to eat a dinner. A DJ also started playing while we were eating. When I went back to the room at 12:00am we could hear the music from the bar in which we thought was closed at 12:30am. At 1:00am the floor was actually vibrating I called reception to ask if the music would be over soon and the porter told us that It was a club and would be on to 2:30am. We had to ask to move rooms. The night porter was helpful enough to bring us to another room on the other side of the hotel but I basically had to pack my stuff at 1:00am. I have to say the only thing which was great was the spa the staff were so professional and the treatments were great. I defineatly needed it after that night. If you do go and you want some sleep ask for a quiet room.
Hi Everyone @Loughrea Hotel & Spa. I have to say we were looking forward to our secod visit to your hotel and have to say your rooms ,food and friendly staff made our stay very enjoyable. But on the Saturday night we got no sleep, after the Dicso people sat on the seats right under our room and were having a ball untill well after 6am so that was the only downer for us. Sincerely Hannah
April 15th 2011: Enjoyed the stay, staff friendly and helpful, evening meal very good, beautiful spa-worth treating yourself, for couples check out the Rasul Treatment. A range of entertainment Friday night with ballads in the bar (young chap with guitar, good singer) Bagatelle and U2 band in function room. Unfortunaely seemed a lot of local lads (a bit the worse for wear) could come and go as they liked which was a bit messy. Nicer crowd in the bar.
We had a great time. Our only complaint was that when we went for our dinner we were given a menu with only one starter, one dessert and two main courses on it. When I pointed out to the staff that we thought we should have at least a choice of three items in each category ie starter, main course and dessert ,a different menu was produced and the staff were very helpful. However I don't think this should have happened and i would love to know is this menu presented to everyone and the second only to those who complain. Other than that the break was great and the food was excellen
absolutely beautiful hotel, staff were lovely and friendly, nightclub in hotel on saturday nights, food was delicious and more than presentable.no glasses in the room and no wine opener which was suprising for a hotel. not near much nightlife great for couples who would like a nice quiet weekend together but a bit quiet for party goers.
When we arrived at the Hotel, they had no record of our booking. However we had all our paperwork with us and the lady on reception was very appologetic and found us a beautiful room within the hour. A beautiful hotel, extremely friendly staff, lovely bar, and great food. Would recomend it to anyone, and in fact have already done so. Lidl breaks top class value. When we were leaving we were given the wrong bill off the system, but when we pointed this out it was sorted immediately. All in all a nice place to stay, and we had a great week end. James Hannon
Overall a very good relaxing break, which is what Anne and I were after. The room was nice clean and spacious. Pity the restaurant was not open and we ate at the bar. The food however was excellent. Location was handy to town, pity there were no water front cafes or bars in town. The Hotel staff were friendly and professional, would stay there again.
Nice hotel, just far enough out of town. Room very comfortable with good bathroom. Bar excellent with great food. Very friendly staff. Would definately recommend.
Myself and my husband arrived on St Patrick's Day,with my 83 year old parents for a two night stay on Lidl breaks. We had booked an enable room with a connecting family room as my Dad is a stroke victim and needs a wheelchair to get about and help with dressing and showering. The receptionist was very helpful and offered any assistance we may need. Our rooms were spacious and clean and met all our needs. Lunch as ordered was delivered to our room and was excellent. We had dinner that evening in the bar which again we could not fault. Breakfast was good but on the second morning the staff were catering for a wedding party and were under huge pressure but we were given the same attention as the previous morning and enjoyed the chefs brown bread which is to die for. I would highly recommend this hotel as a great place to stay for comfort, food , cleanliness, great spa, efficient friendly and helpful staff. We will be back.
Had a great time staying in this hotel, the room was lovey and the bed was so comfy!!! The staff there were very pleasant and very accommodating when my husband mentioned that he was coeliac. Would come here again to stay. The Lidl Breaks are fantastic value for money and will definitely book with them again.
We all had a great night away. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Great value break.
Thoroughly enjoyed our hotel stay! Kids had a ball in the play town kids area. The hotel is spotless, room was big and beautiful. Georgous bathroom. Had dinner in the Lir bar which was lovely, food was great. All in all, a beautiful stay with friendly staff. Only downside, no swimming pool which would have been nice for the kids!
We had a lovely stay- 2 nights b&b and 1 dinner. Its a lovely hotel, very friendly staff, (this is our second time to stay). We were a little disappointed that the restaurant was closed due to a private function. we had to have our meal in the bar, although the food was absolutely delicious and our waitress was very helpful and friendly, we would not choose to eat in the bar with three televisions on the spa is lovely and the staff are very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will most likely return again!
Over all we were pleased with our stay and thought it very good value. However we thought it a reasonable 3 Star Hotel (Definitely not 4 star). The Foyer, Bar and Restaurant areas all a bit Clinical. No linen or tablecloths used in Dining-room, but the food was good. The Bedrooms were very good and the staff overall very efficient and friendly. The Spa treatment were good with staff particularly helpful, only disappointment. the footspa not working
Stayed at The Lough Rea Hotel last weekend. Was disappointed with dinner on the first night in the restaurant, mentioned this to the waitress but she was not very nice about it.. On the second night we were awoken by a party in a room on our floor we rang down to reception and they put a stop to the party straightaway. I didnt mention any of this when we were checking out but the lovely girl on reception said it to me and apologised for the noise and only charged us for one night accomadation. I would'nt stay here again as it is a bit too far out from Galway but the Lidlbreak was great value for money!
Really lovely break. Friendly, helpful staff, spacious room, lovely dinner and breakfast.Only disappointment was that all the spa treatments were booked up except for the mud treatment which my friend tried and enjoyed.Would go back. Brilliant value for money! Would book with Lidl again.
Stayed in Loughrea Hotel and Spa, it was really enjoyable, great hotel, great food, staff, and really great price.!
We stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely relaxed weekend. Staff were vere friendly and helpful. We went to the Spa for a treat and although the jacuzzi and experience showers were out of order, we made the most of the rest of the thermal suite. Overall, we'd recommend this hotel.
hotel is amazing and the rooms are the nicest 4 star i have ever stayed in.our room was very cold and manager moved us because air con was not working it was - 4 outside, he was extremely nice. Our meal was lovely and great value for money. We chose the pamper package but spa was disappointing as three things were not working jacuzzi, solarium and the massage shower the foot spas have no jets but our treatments were excellent it would have been top marks if all things in spa were working that day lovely place to go will go again
Second time to use the lidl breaks %u20AC49 which included 2 course meal. Hotel excellent Room spacious and spotless. Breakfeast good value. Dinner had a good choice on the menu. Food was great. About 10mins walk to the town. Would recommend this to anyone.
My husband and I stayed for two nights. Lovely staff and the room was very good. Loved the bed, but poor lighting by the wardrobe and the safe did not work. It was not sorted even when I reported it, although to be fair I had said it was not urgent. The restaurant was not open on either night but food and service in the bar was very good. I was disappointed that even though we rang in advance I was unable to be fitted in for any treatments, which took away from the break slightly. We thoroughly enjoyed walking by the Lough and in spite of the lack of spa treatments we had a relaxed break. If we were to go back I would make sure they could fit me in for a spa treatment first!!
Just stayed for one night. Not a great 1st impression. Only every 3rd or 4th light was lit in the hallways, so we found it difficult to actually even see our room number. Inside the room was no better, with no main light or lights over the mirrors my wife was not able to do her makeup. The noise from the club could clearly be heard despite our room being on the other side of the building. The breakfast was burnt and the self serve area was a mess. The coffee was burnt and the tea was poor. The rooms are of a good finish, but the incredibly poor lighting and food really lets it down. Would try and avoid staying there again.
Reception attended to us well on arrival and advised that although dinner was served anytime from 6:30pm that it was best to reserve a dinner time to ensure a table at time required. We reserved for 7pm but when we arrived down for 7pm , staff said we had reserved for 730pm - we know there was a wedding on and expect they were not ready to attend to us until 7:30pm, but better if were told 730 was earliest at check-in. Room and double bed really nice. Dinner was good. Bar staff especially nice bar lady - very helpful. Breakfast very poor - terrible rashers. The fruit salad was just plain apple slices and terrible. Little choice unless you went for the normal bacon, egg and sausage.
Staff excellent and very friendly. Food was lovely. Room spacious bright and airy very clean. Breakfeast was piping hot. They make a perfect pot of hot tea. overall can not fault it excellent value for money.
Myself and my husband had a wonderful stay at Loughrea Hotel. The room was beautiful, clean and warm. The staff were very friendly and the receptionist was very informative and welcoming upon our arrival. We adored our time in the Therapy rooms and Melissa was very approachable and knowledgeable about the health benefits . We definitly will recommend the hotel to our friends, and look forward to re-visiting again sometime.
Just got back from Lidl break at the Loughrea.Really enjoyed it.Loved that dinner was included in the package i payed.Had dinner in the bar we got a different menu because we were on a lidl break.Dinner was lovely and dessert was even better! Our room was lovely i loved the bathroom it was very classy and expensive looking. The bedside lamps were not working though! I found the room to be luxurious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast, however, was not good! there wasnt much choice and the woman greeting us didnt seem to have any interest in us at all.Food wasnt great and there wasnt a lot of it so breakfast was a real let down after such high standards in the rest of the hotel. Booked a 30min massage for the morning. The thermal suite was included once i had my massage booked and although that was a plus for me i wouldnt pay the 15euro charge to use it if it had not been included. The massage was wonderful though! Another down point to say about the hotel is it has no land around it.Its just a car park and then a road and housing estates so we had no where to just walk around.Inside the hotel was nice-outside was not! To sum it up- i would go again and definatly on a lidl break as it was good value!
ONLY WENT DOWN FOR ONE NIGHT BBD. EXCELLENT HOTEL. ROOMS REALLY NICE AND CLEAN. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL.
We stayed in the Loughrea Hotel for 3 days - loved the spa - the staff were very friendly and helpful - would definitely revisit
Just returned from a very enjoyable two night stay at the Lough Rea Hotel and Spa. Staff were very helpful and friendly and rooms were most comfortable. We had the evening meal included with our deal and it was excellent on both nights. Would recommend this hotel. Only minus was the light in the bathroom....not good for the face paint!!!!
On arrival at the Loughrea Hotel my Husband and I checked in but when we went to our room it still wasn't ready, we were told to come back in ten minutes, a bit inconvenient. When I made my original booking I requested a quiet room, the hotel has a nightclub which we weren't aware of, it went on until 3am. Our room was directly over the reception area so we then had to listen to the chit chatter of everyone waiting for taxi's and buses home, so no sleep the first night. Our second night was fine, no nightclub. The following morning I treated myself to a Spa treatment, the staff and Spa area were lovely, I would definitely recommend it. Breakfast and dinner were fine and the staff were all friendly and accommodating . The Loughrea is a modern and comfortable hotel, its very convenient for sightseeing the local attractions.
Really nice hotel. Rooms very very nice. Drawbacks = arrived on sunday afternoon at the hotel enquired about using the Spa area to relax, but was informed by reception that it closed at 3pm on Sunday, which i feel is silly as this is a selling point of the hotel., also since dinner was included in the booking asked about the restaurant and again was informed Restaurant was closed. Food was served in the hotel bar and this was a very good meal, But as a hotel trying to sell itself it didnt do it for me and wouldnt go back, Not a lot to offer
the hotel was fabulous. the food was divine. the spa treatment was second to none. thoroughly enjoyed the stay. will go back again
we have just come back from staying in the hotel, everything first class, food, accommodation staff, great value for money. excellent spa treatments, highly recommend aine and mark - limerick july 2010
We had a very enjoyable stay in this hotel, staff very friendly and willing to assist, food excellent, rooms nice and overall i would definately recommend this hotel if you want to get away for a nice relaxing break. Will definately be returning.
Needs to have some maintenance work done especially in the bathroom area where we found faulty taps. As another reviewer said, ridiculously loud music until 2.30 that actually shook the room was also something we experienced. Together with cars screeching in and out of the car park, not a nice Saturday night. Service was appauling, especially at breakfast, queues to get in, and nothing to eat when we got there, staff just dis-organised and dis-interested. Not a hotel to bring children to either, we felt like we were in the way and were the focus of snide comments from locals using the restaurant at 7PM! Didn't use the SPA, overall, an OK stay for a couple, not for kids, and not if you want a restful, peaceful break. Lidl break excellent value for money, would go again, just to a different hotel.
excellent hotel couldnt fault the staff v friendly but needs a smimming pool. Would stay there again no problem...
The hotel was very nice with friendly staff and good food. The bar was also well layed out and the entertainment was also good. We would recommend this hotel for a quite weekend away and it is also a short drive from Galway.
Really nice modern hotel, very friendly staff, really good food and gorgeous spa. Would highly recommend it!
I felt the liddle offer was great value however our stay at hotel was not great . we were kept awake all night with a noise outside the window. was told the following morning by the receptionist that is was a permanent noise and she too hated when that happened when she away. was not pleased with this at all as it made us feel that just because we on the lidd brea2 wedidnt get the same quality as the rest of the guests. i had planned to use this system again over the summer however i might not due to this incident
Lidl. Very good value. Modern clean hotel. Very good food. Facilities very good. Would stay there again. Regards, Noel.
Staff courteous and friendly, food very good, however our second night there was ruined by very loud music until approx 2.30am, for that reason would not choose to stay there again..Was good value for money, would avail of lidl break again bit at a different venue.
The staff at this hotel are lovely but I'm afraid that's all that's lovely about it. Poor and expensive food in the restaurant, the worst pint of Guinness I've ever tasted, grubby walls and floors, all in all not a place I would return to.
I thought the hotel was nice but not particularly luxurious, very clean and the staff were excellent, friendly & helpful. My favourite bit was the entertainment both nights in the bar, excellent music and a great atmosphere. Least favourite bit was the restaurant, the design was a bit strange and it felt more like a lobby than an actual restaurant. Dinner was ok but the breakfasts were pretty poor, lukewarm greasy food left sitting in a buffet. Excellent location, only took us 1hr 40 mins to get from Dublin.
Very nice hotel - if a little atmosphereless. Bedrooms lovely & comfortable. Didn't use the spa as my group were on a quick overnighter. WE had the included Lidl menu which was small but nice. Overall we thought this was great value for this 4* hotel.
This was our second Lidl Break visit. On our first visit we were impressed with the hotel except for the dim lighting and oppressive heat in the bedroom at night. June 26th was like visiting a different hotel. While we were prepared for the heating and lighting problems we were not prepared for the noise from the nightclub reverberating through the room until after 2.30 am, or the constant shouting and swearing from club patrons arguing in the car park. Service in the restaurant was extremely slow and we all thought the food had disimproved since our first visit, when myself , my wife and our son all ordered off the LidlBreak menu, for which my son was charged just over 11 euro. This time we again ordered off the Lidl Break menu but on checkout they tried to charge 29 euro for my sons meal insisting he had ordered off the a la carte. This was eventually reduced but we thought with very bad grace. All the staff we encountered, especially the restaurant manager, were friendly, professional and eager to please but given the problems encountered we would be reticent about returning.
We stayed for 2 nights. Really enjoyed the break away, very modern hotel, very luxurious family bedroom, large ensuite. lovely balcony. restaurant is very nice, food was delicious, very small portions though and no potatoes came with the main courses!!! The spa is really nice, well worth a visit. very friendly staff.
Hotel was nice, but dinner in the hotel was not. Like a cavery lunch and not a meal in a basic resturant, so for a resturant in a 4* hotel this was really poor. Overall ok value for money but would have expected better dinner
Beautiful hotel and very helpful staff - spa was also wonderful. Highly recommended - even our baby daughter approved :)
the room look difrent than on the picture and was very dirty
enjoyed our stay the staff very helpful and friendly the food good, rooms very comfortable did'nt avail of the spa but had a look around looked excellent again staff very helpful there
Enjoyed stay at this hotel.Staff very friendly & helpful.Room excellent with fab decor.Had treatments in spa which were excellent. One small complaint was ordered a bottle of sparkling wine at dinnner & it wasn't chilled which I thought unusual for a hotel of this standard.
The hotel is lovely, and the staff are very nice. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the menu for the ' Lidl ' package. It was not very varied, and it got quite boring. The food was lovely though, but my self and my friend did not look forward to seeing the same menu every evening. Beds were soooo comfortable, and everything was just lovely. Many thanks. Tina, Naas, Co. Kildare.
My husband, two children and I stayed for two nights in the family room in the Loughrea Hotel and Spa and I must say I was more than pleasantly surprised. The room was large, spacious and beautifullly decorated. The beds were very comfortable ensuring a good nights sleep and overall the facilities were such that children are very well looked after -definitely worth a return visit!
