Enjoyed our stay, the decor in the hotel could do with a makeover as it's pretty outdated, food in the restaurant was very good, staff very friendly and accommodating, I would compliment Darragh for his excellent service at breakfast.

Everything about our stay was positive - friendly, helpful staff, big comfortable bed, lovely breakfast. The TV in our room didn't work and we were immediately moved to the room opposite where the TV was working.

Barbara scored 5 / 5 on 24/03/2022

We stayed 2 nights on a B&B rate and can honestly highly recommend it, all the staff throughout were so friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from. It's only a 5 minute walk over the bridge into town, then any of the side streets will get you into the centre for great shopping and entertainment. Great location and so close to beautiful Curracloe beach. We will be back and for longer next time !!! If it's modern you're into this is probably not for you, it's way better, imo, with lots of character !!!

Fantastic location. Food and service is excellent. Rooms somewhat small but great value for money. I will return!

Marian scored 3 / 5 on 25/02/2022

First I will start with the negatives. Our room No 106 was very cramped and we had to keep the curtains pulled for privacy. Shower head was broken which I reported to Reception. On the positive side, Staff were excellent and the Food was fabulous

Hotel could do with and update in decor. Lovely staff, very helpful.

Anna scored 3 / 5 on 03/10/2021

The food was excellen, the staff were great and the price of the stay was very reasonable. However, all meals were served in the bar which is extremely dark , the lighting is dreadful. Bedroom was ok but it took ages for the water to get hot. Doubt that I will be returning.

Raymond scored 2 / 5 on 20/09/2021

Staff were very nice, location was good and food/drink was fine. Hotel however needs considerable investment. Furniture and decor are now very dated. Reasonable value though at the price, and things were clean so not unhappy but anyone booking ought to be aware that hotel is very old world.

Deirdre scored 4 / 5 on 26/09/2020

Although in a pandemic. The staff were totally conscious of customer service while dealing with every aspect of social distancing. Providing a super friendly efficient service. Food was fab, served without delay, plenty of it. Total relaxation. Loved it.

I was very pleasently surprised when I had the chance to stay in the Riverbank Hotel Wexford recently. I was met with a very enchanting entrance , adorned with fairy lights and lanterns. This Hotel has a touch of magic about it, with its turf fires and classic decor, its like stepping back in time. The staff were so welcoming, and the rooms were the essence of comfort, and I was not prepared for my own little caffeteria with ground coffee!!!! Really!!! The bar was very atmospheric, and relaxing, with an amazing view of the bridge into Wexford town. I couldnt fault the food either, sorrry if I'm gushing here..... but I really enjoyed my stay at the Riverbank Hotel Wexford.......

Ruth scored 5 / 5 on 28/11/2017

We had a brilliant 2 nights stay. Excellent staff especially Sheila on reception. Lovely big bedroom, clean and warm with everything we needed. Great location with lovely views and just a few minutes walk to main shopping area. Food in the hotel was really nice and breakfast had a large choice for all tastes. We will be visiting again and thank the staff for a lovely few days in their hotel

Mrs scored 5 / 5 on 22/11/2017

The Riverbank House Hotel offers a "Superior Service" from all of their staff. Right from the moment you step into their reception area, you are greeted with the most friendliest welcome. It seems their goal is to ensure that all guests have a most pleasurable experience. Nothing is a problem and I have to say the STAFF go above and beyond their roles and duties. The food is AMAZING! I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to all parties (groups/families/couples) We most definitely will be back again!

Ashling scored 4 / 5 on 07/03/2017

we stayed in this hotel for a weekend getaway. the staff in the hotel we fantastic and highly trained in customer services which was great to have. The food in the hotel was always excellent and was one of the main factors why we chose to stay in this hotel but on this occasion I must say the food we had was not great at all and was disappointing

This hotel is excellent for famlies. We used it as a base for touring around Wexford. The beds were so comforable. Breakfast and the service were first class. We had dinner one evening in the bar and the choice of food was excellent we wanted it all. But i was moreso amazed by the childrens menu choices my son had the chicken spring rolls followed by duck and vegetables tossed in noodles. We will be back great place to stay.

5 OUT OT OF 5 AND IF I COULD GIVE MORE I WOULD. WHAT AN AMAZING HOTEL WITH WONDERFUL STAFF. THE ENTRANCE IS NOT BIG BY ANY CHANCE BUT THEY HAVE MADE IT BEAUTIFUL AND RELAXING WITH THE USE OF FLOWES AND CANDLES ITS JUST SO PRETTY AND THE INDOOR GARDEN AREA IS JUST THE PRETTIST I HAVE SEEN IN A LONG TIME. THE BREAKFAST MENU IS THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN AND IT CATERS FOR EVERYONE SITTING WATCHING THE RIVER AND THE BOATS IS THE BEST WAY TO ENJOY BREAKFAST. THE ONLY REGRET I HAVE IS THAT I DIDNT STAY LONGER.

Gigglebizz scored 5 / 5 on 17/08/2014

We really enjoyed the stay at the Riverbank Hotel, its so close to the town. The staff are really nice and friendly. We stayed with our 5 year old, he was delighted to find milk and home made biscuits in the room that night. It made his day. Food too nice!! Will be back

Fantastic stay , reception staff wonderful. Made it a lovely stay for us and our 2 kiddies with cookies and milk left in the room for them. food lovely and no long waits. Outdoor area would be fab in summertime, Will stay again for sure.

Weather wise we couldn't have picked a worse weekend to go away but all the way back home my husband and kids kept saying turn the car around we want to go back to the Riverbank, after traveling for the past 2 weeks with work all I wanted to do was spend some quality time with the family and it was perfect. Sheelagh greeted us on our check in fussed over our little girl making her feel like a little princess we were walked to our door and a table was resevered for our evening meal. The room was fab and comfortable the only thing was that we noticed on the Saturday morning that the shower wasn't working properly and again Sheelagh was fantastic the Plumber was down and fixing it while we were out walking the town unfortunatley it couldn't be fixed as it needed a new part so we were offered a choice of 2 other rooms and we moved across the hall this room was also fantastic. After dinner again the in hotel we were putting the kids to bed and we got a knock on the door and it was a girl from the reception with milk and cookies for the 2 kids we were blown away such a nice touch. On our check out everything was quick and simple and we were even given refreshments for the drive home. The food in the Riverbank has always been outstanding and I've been going there for about 10 years now but this was the 1st time we'd stayed over in the hotel and we will defintley back

Simon scored 3 / 5 on 20/11/2013

Aileen scored 4 / 5 on 05/11/2013

My husband and I stayed in the Riverbank House Hotel during the Opera Festival at the end of October this year. We loved this hotel - it's in a great location just over the bridge from Wexford town but its main selling point is the staff. The reception staff are particularly friendly and efficient and call you by name from the moment you arrive. The bar and restaurant staff are also very friendly and all give the impression that they are proud of their hotel and want to do their very best for it. This is very refreshing and works to the guests' advantage - nothing is too much trouble. When visiting in the winter months, the welcoming ambience at the entrance with candles lining the pathway is continued in the foyer with candles on all available surfaces near reception. The open fire which is lighting from early morning is very cosy. The food in the restaurant is delicious - especially the fish which is as fresh as one could hope for. The breakfast is one of the best we have had in any hotel - all hot dishes cooked to order and fresh fish included in the breakfast menu. The room we stayed in was spacious (they do have some smaller doubles) and was well furbished with tea and coffee making facilities. The shower was pretty good in the bathroom but the extractor fan was a little noisy and there was very little shelf space near the sink. Overall, we had a most enjoyable stay and will definitely be back.

Ann scored 5 / 5 on 19/08/2013

Old style hotel, clean but wear and tear evident, and rooms a little 'musty'.Food very good and the staff were exceptional with their service.

Tom scored 3 / 5 on 15/05/2012

The Riverbank hotel is a lovely "old fashioned" hotel. It's a 5minute walk across the bridge to the town. The food is nice and plenty of it!. Only downer is, the bar is more a restuarant than a bar. The bar has only one small telly.

Aoife scored 4 / 5 on 17/04/2012

Very nice hotel. As other reviewers have said the staff are incredible. Very obliging - we asked for a triple with 3 single beds and got it. Lovely cosy atmosphere and very good locations. I would definately recommend it. The only reason it is not 5 stars is that some of the fixtures and fittings could do with a bit of modernisation - some of the door hands very loose, plug in the bath missing etc,

Ann scored 3 / 5 on 19/02/2012

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is tasty and plentiful. The location is perfect. The room warm and comfortable. The candles a really nice touch! Definately will stay here again and recommend to others.

Kevin scored 4 / 5 on 09/11/2011

Myself and my wife had a four night stay in The Riverbank House Hotel last week just to relax, and that is exactly what we did. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was quiet (although quite busy) and cosy. The Riverbank Restaraunt which is part of the hotel is one of the best restaraunts that we've been to in a long time and was popular with non hotel guests as well, we liked it so much that we chose to eat there each evening. The only fault with this hotel was our room, who's window opened out on to a sunroom, so it was hard to get any air into the room and it was quite warm in spite of us turning off the radiators, also we found the room to be quite dark because of dark lampshades and low wattage CFL bulbs. I would suggest that the managment look at rooms 212, 210 and 208 and see can they rectify the lack of air problem, it must be really hot in the Summer. However, we got a brilliant deal from Lidl Breaks at €240 for two people for four nights Bed & Breakfast so we felt that we were in no position to complain. We would certainly stay in The Riverbank House Hotel again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to chill out for a few days in a friendly atmosphere or who just wants to be in the heart of Wexford (without the traffic jams!)

Jennifer scored 5 / 5 on 16/06/2011

I would highly recommend The Riverbank House Hotel, the staff are very friendly, the food was very good and the hotel itself has a great vibe, it felt like home. I spent one night with my mother here and we will definitely return in the future, I have recommended this hotel to friends.

Beth scored 5 / 5 on 23/02/2011

I was there for the weekend with my sister and mother and requested a triple room on the ground floor if possible and got it. Alas the tele was up high and was about 12 to 14 inch and was near the ceiling. When we opened the curtain there was a wall in front of the window. at night if the window was opened we could hear what i think was a generater making a racket up to 12 at night. We enjoyed our stay as we try not to complain. Special word of thanks goes to the staff who went out of their way to be helpful. I would definitely go back but never to room 102.

John scored 4 / 5 on 15/02/2011

While the decor in the accommodation left a little to be desired it was clean, well provisioned, and served the purpose. We had dinner on Friday evening and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our waiter was excellent and showed great attention to detail. Without exception the members of staff were very friendly, courteous and eager to please. This began with the check-in right through to our check-out two days later - excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending the Riverbank House Hotel.

Catriona scored 3 / 5 on 31/08/2010

We stayed in August and had our 2yr old daughter with us, the staff were very friendly!! They had a great kids menu in the bar and the food and service alike were great. The only complaints we would have was our room was just inside the guest entrance in the hallway and we could hear everyone coming and going day and night! Also the rooms could do with a little renovation and as we had our daughter with us we were in early for our 3 nights and the tv was up on a high shelf and the screen was too fuzzy to see from the angle it was at so we ended up just sittig in the room with no TV. Good selection of food for breakfast, and as i said the staff were fantastic and very helpful, great location and would recommend to a friend!

M scored 2 / 5 on 17/07/2010

Hotel was easy to find but parking was limited.Hard to find the enterence as the sign was for reception was over grown. I had booked a twin room but entering the room discovered a it was a double but on closer inspection it was two singles pushed together. I found the room cramped and the TV was just tiny....we had view of some sheds from our widow ....Cannot fault the staff or the food both were very good.

Roma scored 2 / 5 on 05/07/2010

staff were v. friendly. Room was spacious but the camp bed was in bits and our son had to sleep in the bed with us,good job it was a big one! The bathroom was small and rather grotty. food was nice

Mary scored 5 / 5 on 29/06/2010

Enjoyed stay in Riverbank Hotel very much. Staff very helpful and friendly. I had a lovely view from my room of the river. The hotel is within walking distance of town of Wexford. The only negative points I have are it could do with brightening up reception area with a lick of paint and as with most hotels I had to pay single room supplement.

Ciaran scored 5 / 5 on 29/06/2010

Service was excellent, food was very good and also verygood value. The staff were friendly and extremely courteous and helpfull.

Mary scored 2 / 5 on 29/06/2010

Booked a One night stay at Riverbank having attended a wedding there some years ago which was excellent On arriving to hotel the place was in the middle of decoration and looked very gloomy, our room was very small and bathroom was very poor. Food, Staff and value for money were very good, but overall impression will not be returning

Joe scored 4 / 5 on 29/06/2010

I have to say we enjoyed every minute of our stay in the Riverbank House Hotel, the staff were so nilce and friendly and made us feel welcome all the time. The food and the service was exceptional, we also visited the newly renovated Wexford opera house and this was a lovely walk and walk back on a fine spring evening. I would recommend anyone of my friends to visit and stay here and if you fancy a nice drink they also have a lovely Bar and beer garden for the smokers so all around well done to the managment and staff of the Riverbank house hotel.
