Location is nice, food is average and rooms are kind of OK. I think booking the sea view apartments would bring in a better experience as the view from there is awesome. Staff is friendly. Leisure center is fine. Only sad part was that movie night was cancelled on one of the nights without prior intimation. Also the kids activity was cancelled due to no many kids which is understandable.

We were a family with 2 children. we stayed for 3 nights over the easter hols. we really enjoyed this hotel. The kids club and movie nights went down a treat. we had a nice meal in the restaurant, beautiful views. the room was adequate. the ladies in reception and in restaurant were very nice and always helpful. nice swimming pool area. I felt they just need a little more choice on the bar food menu overall we had a lovely stay and got a fab deal through this website.

Had a lovely stay in The Quality Hotel, Youghal. The two girls in the Reception were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome (Sandra and Sarah). We had a lovely big room with a Jacuzzi which was a great plus for us. Eileen in the restaurant was also very friendly. The location of the hotel is perfect - right on the beach. The breakfast was OK. We didn't have dinner there. We got a great deal on this hotel and will definitely be back.

enjoyed our stay In the quality hotel, while the room was very comfortable and the view spectacular, I was disappointed with the bathroom overall, the shower didn't work properly, the was insufficient towels, no hand towel.. it didn't make a huge difference to our stay as everything else was great, the food in the restaurant was top class..

The location of the hotel was amazing that is the only good thing I would have to say about the Quality Hotel in Youghal. The hotel rooms where dirty and the bed lined was stained and dirty. The food was very poor the breakfast being the worst experience. The hotel staff had an attitude towards the hotel being busy overall apart from the view it was a bad experience. We where a party of 10 celebrating a 70th birthday all booked through Lidl breaks and would book Lidl breaks quite often and this was our first bad experience. I would rate this hotel as a poor 2 star

Great Location other than that very basic. Staff in reception not great and didn't really know what they were doing. Accomodation was basic at best food very basic also, breakfast presentation left a lot to be desired. Standards here are very low. Great views though. Wouldn't go back.

Great location, friendly staff, great facilities. Room ok, in need of a little care and attention, especially the bathroom. Overall a great base for a holiday to explore the surrounding areas. Food excellent in bar but with a limited choice, breakfast was average at best. Good nightly entertainment.

Hi, we had a nice stay at the hotel, but we had a few concerns. We ate at the hotel bar on arrival and my toasted sandwich was cold and had to be returned. The chips they served were the most horrible chips we have ever seen and the few we got in the basket for the price of them. Even the kids didn't like them. The night we ate in the restaurant we asked if they had the same chips as were served in the bar and the lady said yes, why and we told her they weren't nice. She said we should mention this to the Manager as he won't listen to them, but we didn't. We had to ask on both nights for the heating to be switched on in our room as it was cold. Regards Mag.

We stayed here for Easter weekend Saturday and Sunday . Reception was lovely, very friendly, nice check in and quick. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apt, which was basic and clean but grand. The fridge door however was broken and in general the kitchen area was a bit grubby. Our 5 year old went to kids club while we went to dinner and my husband checked on him afterwards and he met him coming out the second door into the hallway, with no one watching him so we would be concerned on security . We didn't send him the second night. They didn't make it interesting and wasn't popular film. Food was nice, but nothing major. we went for food elsewhere the second night and was fabulous. The staff in breakfast / dinner area were very friendly and nice but very some seemed untrained and nervous. The area for breakfast was very slapdash and untidy, plus the food by 10.50 when we got our breakfast was cold. Nice place, this was out third time there, but they need to sharpen up their game on the basics to get the customers back.

Good points: Great food! Friendly staff. Beautiful views. Right on the beach. Excellent value. Bad points: Could hear noise from the next room. No water fountain near the sauna in the leisure centre.

Fantastic hotel. Very family orientated. Brilliant service and excellent facilities. I booked a family room but got what I can only describe as a suite. Huge. So delighted as with 2 kids u need space. Dinner was included one night in our deal. Excellent value. Great kids club also. I'll definitely be back

Stayed here last week for 2 nights and we had an amazing time, ,hotel staff were all lovely and even though I left it late to look for an extra spare bed for one of the kids, the reception staff went out of their way to supply one... the food was fab,, entertainment in the bar every night , games room, kids club, even a little shop near the car park for any little bits needed for the apartment.. I love the appartments too and the fact that you are literally 'on the beach' and a swimming pool and gym as well, made our holiday absolutely perfect,, thanks to everyone at the hotel.. we will be back.. We have just returned from a three nights stay in this hotel. We were given a two bedroom apartment eventhough I only booked a family room. This arangement worked very well for us. We have two children, 16 and 11 year old so the extra space was great. Location was good for the beach, a little further than we thought for Youghal town (5 kilometers). The hotels faclities were very good. My husband loved the gym, he has never been to a hotel with better gym equipment. The one complaint we had was no wifi. We were told everyday it was broken. Not great when you have teenagers. Food was good. Staff were ok,helpful most of the time but there seem to be abit of confusion with some of the senior members of the breakfast staff.

our one night stay at the quality hotel was a disgrace. before leaving for the hotel I rang to see what time we could check in as my baby needed a nap around lunch time I was told we could check in around 12. so we arrived at 12.30 to our room not being ready told to go wait in the bar until 1 and went back at 1 to be told room wouldnt be ready until 3pm. 3pm still no room ready! room finally ready at 3,30. baby is wrecked tired. was a horrible day so I couldn't even bring him for a walk in his buggy to get him to sleep. went up to room and requested a cot before arrival and I mentioned it twice while waiting for room from 12 to 3.30, when we went into room there was no cot, rang reception 10 minutes later the cot came up, foreign girl put it together I put my child in it and he fell to the ground because the cot was broke!!! I asked the lady that put the cot together to get me a fuvet for the cot as it was rock hard she came back with sheets to me I said I asked for pillows she said ''I speak no english'. then at 4.55pm a lovely irish girl came up and gave me a new cot and a duvet and apologised for the other lady giving me a broken cot which made my child fall through. my baby was very tired and contrary at this stage and we couldn't even go down for dinner in the bar. we were all in the room then from 5pm until the next morning. we left the hotel at 9am the following morning and we will never return back to this hotel!!

Had a lovely two night stay in the Quality Hotel. Location is excellent and it was lovely to have breakfast and then be able to walk on the beach. Apartment was really nice except for a strange smell which was ok once we opened the windows. The most impressive element in the Quality Hotel is the staff. They are fabulous - friendly, obliging. Nothing is too much trouble for them - Gold Stars to all. A. Murray

Quality Hotel Youghal was my best holiday break after a long time. It was beyond my expectations. The friendliness of the staff; the warmth welcoming; the tidiness of the room and above all the food, a selection of items for breakfast and a choices of lunch and tea menu. The view from the restaurant was spectacular. I have recommended the hotel to many of my friends and absolutely I am coming to the hotel again and spend more days this time.

Just a wonderful location for anyone with kids. Hotel right on the beach with a swimming pool and gym facilities right at the hotel. Along with the kids clubs its just a great setup. The apartments are great, giving the parents some space in the evening when the kids are asleep. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. We will be back again next year, this time for a weeks stay.

We had a wonderful few days at The Quality Hotel in Youghal. We stayed in the 2 bed self catering apartment and would recommend it with small children. The apartment was very spacious it was nice to be able to relax in a seperate room as the kids slept. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the bed very comfortable, plenty of towels. It was wonderful to have a kitchen for light snacks for the children. The breakfast was very nice plenty to eat and loads to choose from. We ate in the bar when we arrived and whille the food was nice there was very little to choose from i felt it could have had more choice. The fact that the hotel is just on the beach is a major plus we had the best of both worlds as the weather was fabulous on Saturday the kids spent hours on the beach and finished the day in the pool. The pool was ideal so safe and spacious and again very clean. I honestly could not fault a thing staff were very friendly and very welcoming. We will be booking another stay at this hotel in the near future.Fantastic value aswell through the LIDL breaks i am tellling all my friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The restaurant staff were especially professional and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our kids were (6 and 2) were fussed over; and it was a family friendly environment. Entertainment for the kids was provided in a cinema room. Our 6 year old caught the 7pm movie, however we did not check the movie at 9 pm was for over 12's so I would check that in the future, that was totally our error. The room was spacious, and had a tv/dvd player combi if you needed to wind down the kids in the room! The mattress could have been better, but after a day on the beach, fresh air and well fed it really didn't matter to us and the kids, but may be annoying for someone else. Breakfast was delicious with continental and hot buffet, I couldn't fault the restaurant. Check out was smooth and quick. I would return to this hotel again and would recommend to friends.

I cannot say that I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The hotel was freezing, and I don't just mean the foyet and communal areas. The room was so cold, it was hard to tell if the sheets were damp or not. I have never experienced this (ever) in any hotel I've ever stayed in. Usually hotels are too warm! I do believe that the hotel had been closed during the winter and was not long open, but we had booked in advance, so therefore they knew of our arrival. When we explained at reception, we were told there was a problem with the heating, but the thing was, the heating was actually on in the room! It was only by the time we were leaving that the room had started to warm up! We were given one of these blow heaters for the room and were told many times that we were the only ones that complained. This annoyed me, as not everyone is willing to speak up! As well as that, there seemed to be only four members of staff. The cleaning lady was also a recepionist and the two people running the bar were also cooking the dinner. The food was way below standard and we had to wait so long (because of lack of staff) which isn't an easy thing to do with two small kids! Over all, the leisure centre was where we spent most of our time (and was excellent, and clean). But when you go on holiday to a hotel, you don't expect to have to sleep in your clothes with your two kids in the bed, just to keep warm!

We enjoyed our stay at the Quality Hotel in June 2013. We have an 11 month old and we found the hotel family friendly. The staff were very helpful when we wanted to heat up food for the baby etc. The proximity to the beach is great, the pool was lovely, and views from the restaurant were idyllic. However we found the food could be improved greatly. The service in the restaurant was also lacking. We were waiting over an hour for our food the first night. I do think this was because new staff being trained up. Overall we did enjoy our stay and would recommend the hotel for young families.

We were very happy with the meals, location was fabulous, staff very friendly and helpful. The facilities in our apartment were great....... fridge, oven, microwave, washing machine/drier, dishwasher. Our only complaint was the bed in the main bedroom.......not the most up to date, at times expected to see the springs fly out of the mattress as you got out of bed, they twanged so much. Replacement needed badly!! Would definitely recommend the hotel to others. Also Youghal is a very interesting and scenic place to visit. Loved it. (Couple from Australia)

We stayed in 2 bedroom apartment from April 3-5th 2013. The hotel had upgraded us automatically. We were very impressed with layout of apartment. The staff were very curteous and very helpful. The breakfast menu and dinner menu were excellent and great value. You are spoilt for choice with the hotel beside the beach. It is very safe and secure. The leisure centre was very clean. The water in toddlers pool was cold for my 10month old daughter, hence we didn't stay long in pool. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone who has small children or teenagers. Lots of activities for them to do. Just one note to make we had asked for a travel cot. There is no cot mattress with travel cot from hotel,so you will need to bring one with you. I have a travel cot with a mattress. Overall I will be definitely going back again. Four star rating.

We had dinner and breakfast in the hotel both of which we all enjoyed. The restaurant wasn't open but I think this was due to the time of year. There was a kiddies club that unfortunately we didn't get to use but we did use the leisure cente. Recommend this hotel for families as it caters mainly for this market. We hope to stay again.

The Quality Hotel in Youghal was the perfect place for a night away for four girlfriends. We were upgraded free to two apartments which were very clean and comfortable. Our Breakfast and Dinner was excellent and the quality of food served was very good. Pleasant staff, especially Eileen at reception. Thanks to Lidl for a great value Diinner, Bed and Breakfast deal. We will stay here again and are telling all our friends about this great location. Margaret, Bridget, Ann and Nora.

Most definitely a family hotel and I think we were the only couple there without children. Located beside the beach which is great. The walls were paper thin in the room we were staying. When the couple next door were talking, we could hear every word even though they weren't being very loud and whenever they shut their door our room shook. The bar was ok but they were out of several common drinks which was surprising given its high season and would have thought having the bar fully stocked would have been a priority. Have stayed in better 3 stars and doubt we would be back.

Bernadette scored 3 / 5 on 29/07/2012

The staff were very plesent, but the hotell needs to improve on the quality of their food. Children were left to run around the hotell lounge unsupervised far too late. Iknow its a family hotel but eleven o clock at night is far too late to have children running around while other guests are trying to enjoy their hbreak.

Very nice hotel and lovely location, staff were all 4 star, in the swimming pool and at the reception, hotel is perfect for a family vacation, didnt give 5 stars for 2 reasons, all machines in the games room are out of order and yet they are plugged in, food in the bar a little pricey for what you were getting, food wise very expensive example theres a platter for 11.99 for 2 which has just 3 onion rings on it! desserts are 5.50 and very small......

Very pleasant overnight stay in 2 bed apartment. Very clean and everything worked. The complex appears to be well maintained and the pool was very good. The weather for our stay wasn't great so we didn't really do justice to the magnificent beach right on our doorstep. We ate in the restaurant and were very pleased with the friendly service and very palatable meal, not to mention the fantastic views over the strand. In better weather this would be a fabulous place to spend a few days, particularly if you have young kids. We'll be back

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night and as soon as we arrived we were wishing we could stay for a week. We booked a family room and we were givien a 2 bed appartment!!! Fully equiped with microwave, dishwasher & washing machine. The staff were very friendly and the place was spotless. The heating in the appartment was on when we arrived ( mid feb so it was needed) The beach is right in front of the hotel as promised by the pictures and the 2 restaurants were overlooking the beach. The leisure complex was aslo spotless and we couldnt find any fault with this hotel!!!

Fantastic short break . The staff were so helpful and polite . Food good. spectacular views of the coast. Beautiful beach. Great activities for kids club/cinema etc. Clean and welcoming. Only down side the games room was outdated and mostly out of order. The leisure center was really nice and well equipped, only disappointing thing here was NO LIFEGUARD on deck duty while we were there for 4 days and u had to pay 1 euro for a towel. really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to a return visit soon.

Myself, my husband and son (2 n Half) went for a weekend to Quality Inn Youghal, We arrived on the Friday evening....checked into our room and went for a swim with our son. We then went for some food - which i have to say was fantastic!! We thougth our room was a bit cold but considering it was early Feb this was probably normal, however we told the staff and they were quick to bring extra blankets for us, which we thought was very considerate! We visited friends on the sat and came back that evening for more food and sat in the for a while. Lovely atmosphere and staff extremely friendly! I would totally recommend this hotel for families! Right on the beach and i am sure is beautiful summer months! We will definaltely pay the hotel a visit in the future. Mr & Mrs Murray

Stayed in the 2 bed apartments in the Quality Hotel Youghal through the Lidl breaks. It was fantastic, the apartments are great, funny furnished and gives you that extra bit of room for the kids. The sea-facing apartments open out onto a green area which lead to the beach. Breakfast in the hotel is self-service and Brenda in the restaurant is a great source of local info. Loved it and will definitely be back! Another great deal from Lidl, well done!

I really enjoyed the quality hotel in youghal when we arrived we were greeted at the reception by cheerful staff our room was on the 2nd floor in the hotel there are also apartments which i cannot comment on. Our room was very comfortable a double bed and a single bed there was tea making facilites an iron and ironing board and also a tv with a cd player there was no fridge/minibar. Our stay was on a bed and breakfast and dinner package. The food in the restaurant was very good and the breakfast had a great selection for everyones needs very nice. The hotel has a leisure centre swimmig pool and gym sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and childrens pool it was very clean a great place to bring children to pass a few hours. The hotel is located directly on the beach so if the weather is good fantastic place to be and great for a nice walk the only dowsnide is that youghal town is 6km away so if you want to go out for a few drinks you will have to get a taxi. The reception rang a taxi for us as we decided to go youghal town for a couple of drinks the taxi cost 13 euro going in at about 10.30 pm this was by john lang taxis but on the way home at around 1.30am we flagged a taxi down on the street and it only cost 10 euros back. John lang taxis has a deal done with the hotel but as you can see this is not a deal! I would recommend JDs bar it has live bands excellent entertainment very enjoyable night.

what can we say but ill give the one plus point and that was the food was great the bad points was that we booked the hotel as our son is Autistic and what he loves to do is staying in hotels and swimming that's all he loves to do. But when we got to the hotel we where told the pool was closed because there was a problem with the heating over that side needless to say our son was very very upset and we had gone with friends of ours and we commented that if we had known that before we went we would have cancelled the weekend as autistic children love everything to be scheduled . Also when we got to our hotel room and we where hanging up our clothes we opened the wardrobe there where 4 empty cans of Heineken beer inside which we where disgusted with as if the the cleaners didn't take them away then they couldn't have cleaned our room. we where so disgusted we checked out after the one night even though we had booked and paid for 2 nights bed and breakfasts and dinners for the 2 night ,when we where checking out after only one night and we complained about the room being left with beer cans and the pool we where told we should have complained about it that first night even though we tried to explain we couldn't as we where trying to calm down our child after we had to tell him he couldn't use the pool ,the receptionist just said o the pool is working again this was at checkout with all our bags packed ! we got no apology and we where charged full price and told that the next time we stayed to say t to the manager and they might give us somthing off. All i can say is this was our second time staying in the quality hotel in youghal and the first time was fab we had a great time and this time it was the hotel break from hell.even if we had been only charged for the one night we stayed it would have been somthing but to be charged for the 2 nights was a disgrace and not even an apology.

We (2 adults and 3 children (9, 5 and 1) just spent 3 nights at the Quality Hotel Youghal. Staff are very friendly, the beach is just beside it - great view from the restaurant where breakfast is served, and there were horses to feed not far away. Great breakfast. Nice swimming pool, with baby pool, wirlpool, sauna and steam room. youghal is not too far away, just over 6km. We will definitely be back when we have a few days spare, although we probably will not be as lucky as this time, as we got an upgrade to an apartment, as all family rooms were full! Great Lidl Break.

Great staff great location for famlies Very nice friendly staff on reception and wonderful location even for older people like us as beach is so handy to hotel. Breakfast was a bit chaotic on halloween weekend there was no way you were ever going to get a hot rasher egg pud ect at the same time so there was a general run and grab the next hot dish that arrived . IT tasted good in general and its a pity to see kids waste so much

The hotel room was spotless clean and the room was made up every day - fresh towels, etc. The food was great and the staff were very pleasant. There was entertainment in the bar on the Saturday night which was very enjoyable. We would definately use Lidl Breaks again and possibly back to the Quality Hotel in Youghal for a third time!

We had a great time in this hotel - were given a 2 bedroom apartment for the family room. First room had 2 single beds and was ensuite. Second room had a double bed. Plenty of storage. The hotel itself was nice and clean, staff very friendly. Remember this is a family orientated hotel so if you don't like loud kids then don't go to this hotel. The hotel is situated right beside the beach so you literally don't have to spend any money to enjoy yourself. The hotel is a bit hard to find if coming through Youghal so you are better off going down the motorway and turning off on the Rosslare Road if coming from Dublin direction.

Mia scored 5 / 5 on 23/08/2010

Also what was brilliant was the fact that the TV in the room was also a DVD player, so I would recommend you bring DVDs with you (we did) for the rainy days! And bring plenty of swimsuits for the leisure centre... only bad note, was the tap water wasn't good at all, so for drinking bring your own water! But loverly, just loverly!

Mia scored 5 / 5 on 23/08/2010

LOVED IT... every minute! The room was absolutely spotless; the staff were just the most friendly I've ever come across - they couldn't do enough for us. I went with my son & nephew (teenagers) just for 2 days before they go back to school; there was one day of rain but it was ok because the boys just had fun in the leisure centre with the gym, pool etc, which again was so clean! The food in the hotel was wonderful and so reasonably priced. The beach was right outside the door as was a lovely sitting area (where I resided with a book for most of the day) bliss! All in all, a family orientated hotel, with friendly staff & a wonderful safe & clean atmosphere! Not your typical chain hotel at all! I would recommend it, no problem, & will definitely go back, again & again...

When we arrived we were given a goodie bag for the baby. i t was brilliant, it had colouring crayons and a book in it which kept her amused in the evenings when we were in the restaurant. The staff were really friendly and spoke to us on first name terms which made us feel really welcome. The food was great too. When we were booking we booked a family room when we arrived it was actually a 2 bed appartment, The accomodation was brilliant and very comfortable. We stayed in the Quality Hotel in Youghal at Easter. We had two teenage boys with us and there is always the problem of entertaining them, but not here! The hotel is situated right on the beach, which is fantastic. We had lovely weather, so the beach was enjoyed. The pool was the other amenity we were glad of. We ate in the restaurant and the beef had to be the best I've tasted in a long time. Service was excellent, all staff were very helpful and pleasant. We enjoyed music in the bar later and met some very nice people. The hotel is really family friendly and I thoroughly recommend it.

By Daniel Nugent. My mother took me to the hotel in Youghal on the 9th of June 2010 to celebrate my completion of a law degree. The hotel was faboulous, the room was great very spacious and comfortable. The bar entertainment was good for the older person not so much for a young adult. however the experience was ruined by the simple fact that the restaraunt was dismal. The staff were good and welcoming bar one. The menu was mediocre and disappointing. My mother had the sea food chowder but it was lumps of salmon dipped in ruiny soup and a disgrace. For the main course she had breaded lamb cutlets which in fact was mutton dressed as lamb and unedible, I had the plaice (which was the only fish on the menu for a seaside hotel) and it was the driest and blandest fish I have ever tasted. If anyone is going I would recommend that they stay clear of the restaraunt and attend the bar. Further disappointing was the fact that after complaining to the manager did not follow the complaint up with us and after attempts to contact the hotel for an explanation we have recieved no correspondence. Apart form the food the hotel was a very good one with fine facilities and great accomadation.

Layla scored 3 / 5 on 29/06/2010

We went to this hotel with our 3 year old son. The hotel was in a fab location - right on the beach. We were lucky and had beautiful weather. Facilities were good for children 4+ - for my little boy we had a small playground and swimming pool (and the beach of course). But not much else. There was a creche there that you could book 24 hours ahead (for under 4's) - however it was closed wen we were there (end June). We asked if it was possible for him to go in and play there (supervised by ourselves) and were told no by the person on reception in club vitae :0( There was kids entertainment organised in the evening but again this didn't start til after 9 at nite and wasn't suitable for a 3 yr old. The food there was lovely - ate in the dining room the first night (beautiful room looking out on the beach) and the bar next night (the bar menu was nicer). The whole place is really child friendly so a definite recommendation for families. The room was nice and big as well. The only real disadvantage i could see of the place was the necessity to drive to do anythin other than lie on the beach or have a drink in the bar. Having said that I would definitely go back there again as we had a great weekend.

Catherine scored 3 / 5 on 29/06/2010

Stayed here in early April. The apartment was lovely, as was the leisure centre. Breakfast in the restaurant was very good but the dinners were a little disappointing - same menu every night and while the food passed as your average 'hotel food' the quality did not reflect the prices charged. If we returned we would opt for self-catering or bed and breakfast only. On the whole though a very pleasant stay.
