First time booking through irish mini breaks and it won't be the last great value for money room was good clean and spacious staff were very nice and welcoming the breakfast was lovely great quality and good amount given plenty of choice too ???? will definitely be back
Nice hotel, helpful staff . great breakfast .
Disappointing.
We had booked two rooms but only one available. Hotel was fully booked for the night so the second room allocated to us was obviously under maintenance and should not have been used. The heating was at its highest level and could not be lowered or turned off. Room was like a sauna.Made several complaints and again at checkout but nothing forthcoming from hotel as a token for our extreme discomfort.
Very nice hotel. Lovely food. Very reasonable price. Delighted with leisure facilities and swimming pool. Overall it was a great stay. Will definitely be back
great. very pleased with the hotel. lovely staff, clean room.
I stayed in the hotel Valentines weekend we had a horrible night ! Our room when smelled like somebody sprayed deodorant all over the curtains and bed sheets ! The meal was awful my girlfriend sent her starter back twice, we both barely touched our mains because the pasta was not cooked ! The room also had hair all over the floor , when we arrived we were given the wrong room also and moved to the room which smelled like someone sprayed everything in deodorant ! Staff at the bar during the night seemed to not want to help anyone they wear avoid serving people and cleaning glasses instead! Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We were very disappointed.
We had a lovely stay at the Green Isle. The staff were amazing, nothing was any trouble. The room was spacious and clean..no complaints at all....
Had a nice stay only downfall was no kids allowed in pool after 18:30 on a Saturday so was a bit disappointed as by the time we checked in and had lunch it was too late for kids to swim. Had Carvery and was served by a very friendly Dublin guy who chatted to all the customers as he served them and a girl called Danielle who couldn't do enough to assist people dining. Will be back. Clean and warm.
Enjoyed our stay but was disappointed with the cleanliness of the room! The bed base was stained beyond what i would say is acceptable for any hotel and when my wife asked for an extra blanket it arrived with dried food stuck to it. Asked for another and poor man who brought it was mortified and very apologetic. Food was excellent as was the staff could not be more helpful. Would stay again if they took a bit of pride in the rooms!
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a family room it was a spacious room. Staff all nice and friendly. Breakfast was great. Will be staying here again when we are in dublin
Very happy with booking , the hotel, the room and the food. The waitress Lisa was particularly nice. However when I got to reception to book in they only had a record of one room when I had booked two and when I was checking out they were going to charge me double. A lesson learned, in future I will print out my information and have it to hand.
Food and staff were superb. The biggest letdown was the room. It was nice enough but the carpets and ceiling were stained.
Recently stayed in the Green Isle Hotel for two nights with my wife and two children. The staff were pleasant and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Its a little outside the city but its only minutes from the N7 and the M50 which suited me perfectly. The dinner was great and the breakfast was a standard buffet. The use of the leisure club facilities was a huge benefit for the kids. The price was very reasonable for all that was offered. I would definitely stay again.
Nice hotel food not great staff nice big turn of was had to be checked out of hotel at 11 am and becouse of 11 am check out i would not stay there again
Great value for money. This hotel is outside the City but a bus outside the Hotel takes you into the City and there is Liffey Valley shopping centre not too far away. Rooms are spacious and we had a good nights sleep. The staff are friendly and helpful especially Stephen in reception. We had a very nice evening meal in the restaurant. Breakfast was ok not mad about buffet breakfast but this is served in most hotels. Lots of fruit choices which was good.
Was nice stay. Rooms nice and clean. Beds very comfortable. Staff very friendly. Bit out from town. The only fault I would have was with the dinner we had. The service was I bit mixed up. We were party of 4 people and we recieved two starters and was about 15 mins before the other two starters came. And they were missing the side salad to go with the garlic mushrooms. Also the soup had burnt taste and we had to ask for the bread to go with it. Then we had to ask for the butter to go with the bread!!. Was very unorganised.also a very limited menu. But to spite that we did enjoy our stay and most of the food was quite tasty. I would stay there again. I'd give them a second chance.!!
Really enjoyed out stay. Very relaxed hotel. Clean rooms and nice staff.
I've stayed in the Green Isle many times and have always been pleased with it but This time i was very disappointed. we had two rooms booked but in one of the rooms you couldn't turn off the heating and with the noise of the traffic we couldn't leave the window open, needless to say we were baked alive. we had dinner at the resturant and my mother ordered cod and chips as it is always fab but this time it was well below average-totally over cooked and dried out and my two sisters had the pork which gave them a pain in the jaw chewing because it was so tough. my pasta dish on the other hand was lovely
Excellent stay. Large spacious comfortable room. Dinner and breakfast v good. Enjoyed indoor pool. Will stay again.
Stayed 1 night in the Green Isle hotel on a Lid break. The hotel is lovely, all the staff are very friendly and good at their job. I liked the modern design of the room, very clean and even how the towels in the bathroom were designed! The evening meal was excellent, thanks to all
Lovely hotel, great atmosphere, excellent value for money ☺
Had a great stay at the hotel , staff were excellent both service and food were of a top standard . A five star rating for me simply for the staff and their positive attitude
Bedroom freezing, breeze through windows had to ask for heating to be put on eventually bout 8pm heating went off during night room freezing again in the morning. No heat atall in bathroom dirty grout on tiles badly painted with paint spots on the floor, very short flush in toilet an not sufficient bath towels for everyone to have bath/shower. Electric kettle not working sockets loose on the walls no bed side lights. Corridors also very cold and roof leak near reception. On the upside the bed was very comfortable and breakfast was gud wit exception of Rea not available until breakfast was almost finished. Couldn't recommend this hotel to snybody
Great value for the price with lovely food. Would definitely re-visit. Very relaxed atmosphere and child friendly.
Nice hotel, suitable for young families with a small pool with kiddies area. Family room was a good size with a double and 2 singles sleeping four comfortably. Breakfast was very good and staff polite and friendly. Only negatives were the room had a desk but no chair, the windows were draughty and we could hear the traffic from the adjacent motorway throughout the night. Its a distance from the city center (No. 69 bus has a bus stop directly outside the hotel to the city center and back hourly) but suitable for shopping in Dundrum SC which is only 15 mins drive away. Overall, a good hotel but possible rooms need to be upgraded, certainly in the room we stayed in, 383.
Excellent hotel. Great location. Very friendly staff and my little girl loved the pool. What more could you want.
Nice Hotel, Food Excellent(Special Mention to the Chief), Location excellent for Tayto parkIkea.
HOTEL LOVELY AND CLEAN BUT DINNER STAFF VERY IGNORANT AND DIDNT KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING IF BOOK ING THE DEAL WITH THE DINNER KNOW WHAT YOUR ENTITLED TO BECAUSE THE STAFF WONT AND THEN THEY WILL CHARGE YOU GOOG HOTEL PITY BOUT THE STAFF
Lovely hotel family room furniture could do with a bit updating... staff excellent and would do anything for you.... only downfall was getting the bill and being overcharged for food when it came included in the deal......
The hotel staff were excellent. The food was top class. Hope to stay dthere again soon.
I stayed here with a big group. we booked 6 rooms in total The hotel its self is really nice. We did get very lost getting to the hotel so its a good idea to have a really good map or decent sat nav On arrival booking in was very easy. We were advised that childrens meals were not covered on the rate we had booked. Previously in another hotel the childrens meals had been covered so that did throw us to start with. We were also not told how dinner worked. We were given cards to hand in for the adults meals. The only thing was with our group that we all ate at different times on some of the evenings and so it got complicated occasionally. We didn't no if we had to order from the menu or could use the buffet service. We were never offered puddings and had to ask for them every evening and were never offered tea or coffee either. Then on the 1 evening i did ask we were told we had to pay. The meals are very reasonable if you do have to pay and there is also a very good choice The staff in the dinner area never knew what was going on. When we asked what the puddings were they always had to go back to the kitchen to ask then took another 20 mins to come back and tell us. On the 1 night we had tea and coffee the member of staff bought 2 lots of tea, then went back for milk, then ent back for sugar and then went back for tea spoons.... The staff on reception were really nice and the night staff were all lovely we just found that some of the dinning room staff a bit abrupt. When i mentioned that the group would like to go back next year i was told we would have to be more organised and even after mentioning that we were never once told how dinner worked i was ignored. The swimming pool is lovely. The rooms fine and bed very comfy I think were were unlucky with locks on the rooms as ours broke , we had to move rooms and then 1 of the children got locked in the toilet . Fortunately the night manager was able to break it and let the child out. Over all we we found the hotel really nice and would like to return next year. For our group it fitted great with what we needed.
Another great stay in the Green Isle. Staff are as friendly as before. Have booked to go again in December
I stayed in this hotel recently in Dublin and it was only ok. The hotel is easy to find as it is a straight run after leaving the motorway. However, when we got there the card we were given would not work on the door and that took awhile to sort out. Then the remote for the television wasn't working. There was lots of tea making facilities but no kettle which I could not understand. The final negative: the bed wasnt very comfortable with very flat pillows which me and my partner had to fold in half to sleep on. The positive side: it was only 37 euro each with breakfast included which was a lovely buffet and had gym, pool and free parking. I don't know if I was expecting too much for such a cheap price but I wouldn't be staying here again.
Plenty of atmosphere in the hotel a real buzz. Michael on reception was very busy but very professional . Chef on carvery dinner extremely efficient and friendly. A great breakfast we will definitely go again.
We really enjoyed our stay in the Green Isle Hotel. The room was very spacious and clean with a very comfortable bed. We had dinner as part of the package and the menu choices were lovely . The food was delicious. Breakfast was also very good. The swimming pool is a great facility and myself and my toddler had it to ourselves. My husband was very impressed with the stay and he is very picky about horels! Can't wait to go back.
Excellent facilities throughout the hotel, faultless review
Nice modern hotel, staff very friendly, food so tasty, all day carvery a great idea and economical for families. Unfortunately our room on third floor was very warm and because our family room was facing the motor way we could not open windows due to noise. Also air conditioning only allowed room to stay at temp of 20 degrees which was very uncomfortable at night time. Staff member did supply 2 fans to use. Our children could not get a good nights sleep. Also the swimming pool area very warm and uncomfortable to deal with changing etc.
Staff really friendly, always had a smile. Food in the carvery was excellent and the fact that there was also panini, salad, sandwich, pizza options was great. Kids loved the pool. Understand hotel is going through refurbishment of its rooms, our room had a double bed and two singles which suited us perfectly, room was obviously not refurbished as the bedside lights were on a different wall to the actual bed but this was compensated for with extra lighting in the room that we could place where we wanted. Location of the hotel was perfect for easy access to the M50 and the fact that there is a little shop onsite is a bonus. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.
Great friendly staff which is the hotel's best asset ! Room spacious & clean, perfect for families !
Myself and my family really enjoyed our stay at the Green Isle. The staff were very friendly and helpful esp with our two very young children. The food was lovely and very generous servings. The location is very convenient and a great base for exploring dublin. Great hotel and excellent value for families.
Excellent hotel... really enjoyed our stay.. Staff were very friendly... Meal was beautiful really tasty, good quality and big portions. Leisure centre was ok too...
Our 2nd time staying, this time for 3 nights BB&1D. Both rooms were clean, bright & spacious. Food was superb. Staff were very helpful & professional. Ideal location for visiting Dublin & surrounds. Our son was on an antibiotic during our stay & the staff kept it in the fridge for us. Only slight negative was we could do with somewhere besides the dressing table to put our suitcases in the rooms. Again a very enjoyable & comfortable stay - we will be back.
It was a lovely big hotel with a lot of facilities, staff were lovely. But the management seem to have let things slip, we queued for food which was extremely slow as only one person serving and trays and tables not cleaned. Also found room cold, door handle broke in bathroom , entrance from carpark to hotel very shabby. Great ammenties for kids but need to keep standards up.
we had a great 2 night stay. The room is very large which is great for the children not on top of each other. The rooms are clean and had everything we needed. Got the bus into Dublin it stops outside the hotel. We had lunch in the hotel the Hake was lovely even the children cleaned there plates
Very nice hotel, welcoming staff. Will return again.
We arrived on wed and stayed till Sunday and could not find a fault :location excellent we were swimming at a completion in NAC blancherdstown :food fantastic :great bar ,great reception ,fantastic Dublin staff ,9 out off 10 one point dropped for walls so light in bedrooms we could hear people next door talking all the time .A very happy stay overall
On arrival our room was disgusting had to move to another room. We then went for carvers dinner a man with a shirt and tie no hat carving and serving.Chicken Maryland on menu no bacon, pineapple or banana fritters, potatoes disgusting,my friend had roast beef which she claimed was stew also waiting 25 mins in qeuqe.Following had to clear a table to get our breakfast and wipe same.Only for Annese restaurant manager we would have checked she saved the hotel deserves credit
We were very disappointed with this hotel, we had stayed a couple of years ago and it was very nice and clean but things have been let go downhill a lot since then. When we arrived we were given room 343 when we went through the doors to get to this room there was a very bad smell of deep fried food, we went into our room and the smell was worse, the bed was broke and it was filthy dirty with food or drink spilt around the wood base, some of the doors were missing handles, there was a huge water stain on the ceiling, the bathroom floor hadn't been cleaned and there was half empty bottle of the hotels shampoo left in the bathroom, we asked to be moved. We were moved to room 315 which was a family room which only divided us by a door, we could hear the people next door breathing nearly, our tv the screen had been smashed , we had two torn towels left in our bathroom and the people continuously smoked in the room next door . some of the staff weren't very friendly especially the chefs and I think they need to go on customer based courses and attention to detail courses.
Very convenient location, room require a little updating but leisure facilities were good and the food was amazing.
WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY.VERY GOOD FOOD.THE STAFF WAS VERY HELPFUL AND THE ROOMS VERY CLEAN.MY TWO GIRLS REALLY ENJOYED THE POOL.I WOULD GLADLY RECOMMEND THE HOTEL TO ANY OF MY FRIENDS.
Hi i would not stay in the green Isle hotel again as the services from the staff is not very nice and not very helpful.
Hi had a great stay in the green isle. Very big family room,Fixtures and fittings a bit dated.Had a two night stay with evening meal.We ate in the restaurant and the food was fantastic. The service in the restaurant and at reception were excellent. The staff were very friendly and would highly reccomend.
We were very pleased with our overnight. It suited our requirement as we were attending a wedding in Castlenock and were returning early the following morning to Limerick. Service was good and the breakfast good. Mike
Excellent value , friendly service, very clean , good breakfast & very robust dinner ( lots of it). Its not fine dining but you get what you pay for. Excellent wi fi & all free.
Had an excellent stay, food was top class, service was friendly and very helpful, accommodation was excellent
Stayed in the hotel last week for 2 nights, whilst at the Disney on Ice Frozen show, couldn't fault the hotel. The staff all round were extremely pleasant, very friendly, at reception, in the bar/restaurant, leisure centre, and cleaning staff. Food was excellent. Furniture in rooms so could with some TLC and a bit dated, but that is minor. Great value for money, Lidl breaks deal were an excellent choice.
The Green isle hotel was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. My husband, two children, and myself arrived at the hotel reception to check in at 6.30pm on 7th April 2015. It was 6.55pm by the time we got to check in as there was some mix up with the person in front of us regarding his booking. I overheard him say "this is the second week this has happened". He was in his workmans clothes so i presume he stays there quiet a bit. Anyway as it was not 7pm we booked a table in the 'sit-down' restaurant with the receptionist fro 7.15pm. She offered us sit-down or carvery. We left our bags upto our room, no 171, doors falling off drawers, two towels for 4 people. We proceeded to the restaurant to be told we did not have a booking, I explained to the girl that the receptionist took it and if she wanted to check with her but she just pointed to a table and said take this. They took our order at 7.25pm, been 2 starters, 4 mains, the kids two to come with our starters and 3 drinks. At 7.58 we got out drinks. At 8.05pm i asked one of the girls as to the wherabouts of our starters and kids dinners? she went off, not to come back. I then called the manager at 8.15 and enquired about same. Eventually at 8.25 we got out starters and the kids got their mains. At 9pm we got out mains. It was meant to be pork for me with no veg and gravy on the side. Pork with veg for my husband. Both mains arrived with cabbage underneath covered in gravy with a ball of fat on top covered with more gravy. To even look at it in front of us, not to talk of eating it made us feel sick. After 10 minutes of trying to get someone's attention I again called the manager to show him and ask him would he eat this "SLOP" he said no. I asked to bring it into the chef and ask him would he eat it. He came back and said he did and the chef who gave us this "SLOP" to eat would not even eat it. The manager just stood there. I asked what he was doing about it and i might as well have been talking to the wall. I requested I receive my money back for the portion of the meal we have paid for and could not eat and I eventually got it, but this whole episode ruined our evening. We were still hurgry but could not look at food. I certainly would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. Staff unfriendly, pool small and cramped. Awful Experience
hi our stay in the hotel was not a good one and it would take something special for us to go back again, there seem to be no organisition very little staff on or if so they did not seem to know wher they were to be working, examples, when people got there dinner and they got to the checkout ther was no one ther to pay, so by the time someone came along your dinner was cold we ordered tea and sandweges 3 different people cam to to see what we wanted even do we had ordered, the only area that i can praise was the reception area they could not do enough to help out and they were very mannerly.
Hotel staff couldnt be nicer. No complaints about our stay.
Huge queue for check in which took over an hour Room good spotlessly clean The noise from the traffic on the main road was horrific even with the double windows Good atmosphere over the hotel with lots going on and entertainment in the bar Breakfast was a joke Again a huge queue Couldn't get anyone to get us a cup of tea Kids running around in PJs and underwear Bus directly outside back door of hotel takes you into city center with a good service Overall would not be in a hurry to return
We had a lovely stay in Green Isle Hotel, staff friendly and helpful. Very easy to find and travel to where we wanted to from the hotel great parking.
Stayed for five nights with my wife and daughter while moving house at the end of October 2014. The staff were extremely friendly. Food was very good. We had dinner in the Hotel each night. We were given a very large room when we arrived. The girl at reception who checked us in for the five nights even bought us a house warming gift for our new home and left it at our table in the restaurant on the last night of the stay. I would recommend the Green Isle Hotel.
Stayed in the family room with two kids. Room was clean, and we were given a quiet room as requested. First day, we were frustrated with all the waiting. We had to wait, a long time on checking in, then to be told our room was not ready, then we were given a room, but no key, we were told the key would be sent up shortly. We waited in our room for th key, but as we were hoping to go in to Dublin went down to desk, only to have to wait again, and told no key. This ate into our time, and we didn't get to see all we had hoped to due to all the delays in the hotel. When we returned another wait at the desk, before finally getting our key.Dinner on the first night was also very stressful, when we went down, there was a sign stating for us to wait to be seated, but no-one seating anyone. There were people waiting before us, and along queue behind us, mixed in with another long queue for carvery. after 15mins, I had to call a waiter to seat us. Our order was taking quickly, but we had to wait over 30 mins for food, which is very difficult with a toddler. In saying this, staff were at all times very pleasant. If the first night was our only night the hotel would have got a 1 star review, but we stayed a second night, and also had dinner. The second night was a far better experience. We had no waits at reception, and diiner wasa far better experience, we were seated when we arrived, and dinner arrived after a respectful time. Food was nice, and staff pleasant.
Hotel was exactly as expected having stayed here before. Family Room in old side room 385 nice and spacious however stone age TVs so dont bring the PS4 for the kiddos :) I asked for upgrade as son has brought his but even the newly refurbished rooms dont have LCD Tvs which was a surprise. Bar food was just ok very pricey best off sticking to Carvery Band on that night and kids could sit with you in bar which was good. Swimming pool tiny like a large bath Overall , get what you pay for staff seemed nice
Very enjoyable stay, everything excellent. Staff very helpful. Looking forward to the next time. Best wishes. P.J.
A bit disappointed temperature could not be regulated in the room and we found it extremely hot we were travelling with a 2 year old girl and I had to phone reception at 11.45 pm to get a travel cot to try to settle her. We went to the bistro and ordered food at 8.30 pm which did not arrive at the table until 9.30 - 9.45 this was with a 2 year old sitting waiting for a bowl of soup ................
Rooms are fresh and airy great hotel close to the city :-)
Great value and service for a 3 star hotel. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Very clean rooms and comfy beds. Great breakfast. Only downside is that's not good for public transport. Bus stop right outside but very bad/infrequent service. A car is a must! I would recommend this hotel but not if relying on public transport
My sister and i stayed in the Green Isle hotel on the 29/06/14.The entrance to the hotel from the car park was not impressive with trolleys and linen everywhere the bin was overflowing and empty boxes of beer left on the ground. We did receive a friendly welcome even though the manager on duty asked us if we enjoyed our stay when we were only checking in!! The facilities were all fine and the pool area was lovely with a really good steam room. The room was nice we had requested a smoking room which had a view overlooking the air conditioning but we didn't mind it was just a pity the room had not been properly finished with the ceiling only partly painted. The big let down was the meal we both ordered the ceasar salad which was fine except for the croutons which were either fried in oil that wasn't hot or they were stale and then the main my sister ordered the steak medium and when she got it she couldn't even cut into it as it was so tough and overdone you could have bounced it off the floor,i ordered the pasta with creamy sauce it was ok but the chips were horrible they had been reheated and were soggy desert was pavlova which came with chocolate sauce(strange) it was a big disappointment overall and when we were having our main course there was no staff member around to complain to and no one came to ask how it was until they were clearing our plates. When we eventually voiced our disappointment with the meal the waitress explained that she had to go upstairs to a room and the waiter had been called away also.I booked this hotel based on a rating of excellent???? I would personally not stay here again.
Stayed overnight in The Green Isle on a deal that included dinner. We really enjoyed our stay. The food was lovely, the staff wer very pleasant and the room was spotless. Would definitely go back again.
we were given our room but you coul not open any window it was all glass to the front, and the room was like a sauna, there was also an electrtic socket hanging of the ceiling. i went to complain and they apologysed and gave us another room on the first floor which was not to bad only problems being we over looked there waste food area that was not looked after properly bins over flowing birds making a mess. the staff were very helpful its just the hotel its self that needed a revamp.food was good would stay again though.
Really enjoyed our one night stay Thank you. Very convenient location, clean and friendly.
Hotel excellent location too far from city centre 45mins on bus Luas at red cow too far to walk wouldent go back because of distance from City centre
Stay was pleasant. Paid for 1 nights B&B + Dinner, dinner we had to pass on as selection was pretty poor. Room was basic also. Highlight was breakfast. Asked for a speciality & was supplied no bother.
Third time back in a period of 5 weeks and still as pleasant as ever. had to check in late due to family crisis but it was no hassle for the staff. Will keep going back. Breakfast again was lovely and rooms are perfect for us.
great service and friendly staff would go back again lovely hotel in the heart of the city
Had another great stay in hotel and because we were there the previous weekend we were in an upgraded room which was huge and very much to our liking. We will definitely go back as we have stayed in many hotels in Dublin but never given a bigger room because of being a returning guest. The Green Isle is going to be our regular base from now on. We like everything about it and staff are friendly, smiley and welcoming.
Had a lovely stay at the Green Isle, staff lovely and breakfast delicious. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable but TV could do with updating but not a major issue. Didn't get chance to use pool facilities but intend on returning soon for longer stay. Very close to city and very good location for services
Very basic hotel, old room, old carpet. The only good thing was they have swimming pool.
My husband and kids stayed in the Green Isle Hotel on Saturday the 22nd of March to celebrate my daughters birthday. The facilities are ok but the staff leave a lot to be desired. The service at our meal was terrible. The restaurant wasn't busy but we had to wait a long time for our starters which then arrived cold! We ordered orange juice for our toddler and it was forgotten about and still took an age to arrive even after we reminded the staff member. The reception staff that evening and at the leisure centre were very abrupt. We would not stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I'm surprised it gets such good reviews.
Great hotel, staff are friendly, food was lovely, would recommend..
Delighted with our stay. Hotel was spotless. All staff friendly and helpful. Food was delicious.Rooms clean and spacious. For the excellent price we got for our bed breakfast and dinner deal we really could not fault this hotel have stayed before and would definitely stay again.
We had a 2 night stay at Green Isle last week and were very happy with our stay. Room was bright and airy and staff very friendly. Would have no problem staying
Although the staff were very friendly our room was in the older section. No wifi signal which was terrible as I had business to do. Our TV channels were not tuned, housekeeping came but put down to fact we were in old section and sometimes TV didn't work. We were told this would be sorted it wasn't even after asking again the next day. We felt there was no management support for staff, disappointed and won't stay there again.
Hi customer Care, I am writing this review in order that you may carry out improvements and use as positive feedback, where do I start first thing was the broken bits of furniture e.g. tea cupboard and a chair, the sink was blocked, the armchairs were stained, there was finger-marks all over the headboard and very dusty to be honest I was going to go home the next day as my son is 4 years old and has asthma and this could have been disastrous health wise. We booked into the hotel on the 14th of Feb until the 16th a short stay, on the last night the hotel alarm was set off at three o clock in the morning due to someone smoking in a non smoking area we were told, this was disastrous as we were awake from this time onwards, this was not an enjoyable weekend stay. The swimming Pool did not have an attendee/lifeguard and the cleanliness of the pool left a lot to be desired, all said and done I have to say bravo to the hotel staff as they were very accommodating and couldn't do enough to help, the bar and restaurant were wonderful , the food was delicious, overall I would say that the hotel could do with a re-vamp, I do travel quite a lot up and down the Country meeting with friends and family . Don't think I will be recommending or returning to the Green Isle Hotel.
Enjoyable stay, convenient location and helpful and friendly staff, will be back
STAFF WERE SUPERB , FOOD EXCELLENT , LOVELY POOL AND FACILITIES , ONLY ONE SMALL COMPLAINT I LIVE IN A QUIET AND SO THE TRAFFIC NOISE FROM THE MOTORWAY MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SLEEP. BUT I WOULD STAY AGAIN . 4.5 STARS
stayed here with my 2 grandchildren for 2 nights in dec. promt check in and very helpfull lady on desk.the rooms are lovely very spacious and comfortable beds' the bathroom was very nice and we had a lovely shower very powerfull. we decided to take the kids swiming it was 6 pm and the pool closed at 7.30. the guy was very nice and gave us our towelsand sowed us to the changing rooms which were spotless. the pool was beautiful and so warm ther was not many there and we stayed for about an hour the kids loved it. we then showered and went to the bar for dinner. the girl met us and brought us to a table and gave us the menu. there was a good selection for us and the kids. we ordered and the girl went and got some colouring pads for the kids while we waited on our food which was served quickly and nice and hot. after dinner we had a drink and went back to the room where we watched tv. good choice of channels for kids.overall we had a great stay and the kids loved it i would return to this hotel again its great value for money and staff so friendly especially the girl over the food in the bar was so nice i forget her name but she told me she is there a long time she is from springfield thanks again for wonderful stay.
The hotel rooms needs a little updating. The staff and so helpful and friendly. The food in the hotel was excellent .We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel.
Lovely hotel. Doesn't look much as you pass it on the N7, but inside is very clean and nicely furnished. Big (superking?) bed, which was very comfortable. Good black out curtains. Food was great in the evening and at breakfast. Would definitely recommend.
Stayed at the green hotel for two nights with my husband and three small children. I can honestly say that the staff were fantastic and very helpful, cannot praise them enough. The rooms were tatty and worn, the bathroom was freezing, far to cold to have a shower, this was due to the fan in the bathroom. On Saturday night 2 November the electricity went off and the room was freezing. It was such a shame the room was cold as visually the hotel is modern and spacious, but very tatty in some areas.
Just home from the Green ISle Hotel. The hotel in fact is 30mins to city centre not 10 It is a 15 min walk to the village of clondalkin which had few shops and bars. The hotel itself was lovely ,the rooms were clean and modern the staff friendly. If i had one complaint it was the lay out of the bar.Big bar but not enough seats and tables, there was a big crowd there over the weekend so bar was full even early on,had to leave the hotel and go into the village for a drink.
The room was nicely decorated and spacious for four. I had asked for a quiet room so they placed us above reception at the entrance to the hotel so I am not sure of their logic on that! The bathroom was ok. The breakfast was very tasty. When we arrived we were seated straight away, when we were leaving there was a q of over 25 people! I would not have been impressed if I had been in that q. The receptionist on check in was very friendly. The bar area for a drink was a complete mess with families with young kids screaming and running around, tables uncleared, dishes and bottles everywhere. We had one drink and left. It was like an asylum. The pool area especially the changing area was dirty and needed to be cleaned. Dirty towels everywhere, hair all over the floor..The steam room had a new feature..air con...it was colder in the steam room than the pool! Very disappointed with the pool area and we only chose this hotel for this reason. Would I stay again - probably not unless I had no where else.
Stayed here over October Bank Holiday Weekend,Food in Bistro was excellent as was Breakfast,Carvery lunch not so good. Bar busy but Staff very friendly .Rooms left a lot to be desired for in desperate need of Painting, handles loose and missing on bedroom furniture, holes in the sides on the bed bases and headboard filthy. Would be reluctant to stay here again unless bedroom and maintainence issues are addressed.
I stayed in the hotel from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th October with my wife and two children. The hotel is ideally located for visiting Dublin, with easy access (Apart from rush hour traffic). We ate in the Hotel on both evenings and the food was very good. The one thing which was poor, was the lack of imagination used by the chef with the steak dishes, all the onions you can eat, and that's it! The staff very very friendly and efficient. It was noticable that the same girl who checked us in, also served the meal in the restaurant which I thought was unusual. Overall the condition of the hotel was poor. Tiles were missing outside the entrance. The carpet in the hallways were not set correctly, with lumps which could cause trips, and there was a damp smell throught the hotel. The carpet in our room was very stained, paint chipped in several areas, holes in the curtain, stains on the ceiling and the lamp shades were in poor condition. There was also a smell of smoke in the room. Despite the faults, I would recommend this hotel for a stay, and what I am highlighting would not deter me from staying again as it was excellent value, and worth a visit for the friendliness of the staff alone. To me, this hotel has a lot of potential but needs some TLC. It wouldn't cost too much to bring the standard up to a level where I would give a 5 star rating. Replace carpets, a good paint job and a bit of general maintenance. Steve, Galway
My recent stay in the Green Isle Hotel was not a pleasent one, my room while big had a stale tabacco smell, as a non smoker this was very uncomfortable and not a plesant experience. I requested a change but as the hotel was fully booked there was no other room available. The reception Staff were excellent and most of the bar staff were good except one who when serving me a drink thought he was doing me a favour this same guy was not nice at all when serving guests a late drink, will I go there again I'm not sure.
great break at the green isle. looking forward to returning again soon.
We were very dissapointed as the leasure Center had restricted open times (7-10 am and 5-9) and we were not informed of this when we booked as we have 2 wee girls who love to swim. There was no WiFi in the bedrooms and this was a problem for the girls also as they could not use their devices. There were stains on the chairs and carpet; however, the food was very good.
We had a lovely stay Food was lovely and the room was nice and clean but a bit noise with the traffic of the motor way .The changing rooms for the swimming pool were very very dirty and had a bad smell from them .We only used it the once because of that reason .I would give a 3 star because of the swimming pool changing rooms .We would go again but would ask for a room but not the side of the motor way
Very good rooms and food
Our third visit and have never been disappointed. Excellent food and service. Restaurant , reception and bar staff friendly, courteous and efficient. Stayed as family with two teenage daughters and eight year old son.Only draw-back was pool hours were limited due to re-furbishing work. Steam room closed A good sign that management are investing in improvement, unfortunate timing during high season. But would highly recommend this hotel and we will be back..
lovely hotel, staff were lovely. rooms very nice. only problem was the swimming pool was out of order for our weekend stay and my daughter had been most looking forward to that. very handy for getting into city as Dublin bus stop right out side.
Would stay at this hotel again, food & staff were lovely
fantastic deal lovely dinner and breakfast very pleasant and helpful staff in grill room
It's only saving graces were that it was very good value for money and the parking was free and secure. Satisfied with the evening meal despite slow service - it took 2 hours which was a long time to keep 2 kids under 4 years entertained. However I was disappointed with the room because my double bed had a large sag in the middle so I didn't get a comfortable nights sleep. Also, the pool was not open which made my 4 year old cry.
the room was spotlessly clean and spacious which i like. the breakfast was lovely.my gripe with the hotel is with the leisure centre. we went down for a swim the next morning and were told that they didint have any towels and to go back to our rooms to get towels.our room was the far from the leisure centre so we said we were not waking back she then told us to go to reception to order some. we then said to her could she not ring reception to do this and she said ok but was not helpfull at all. as paying guests i think the staff should try and make your stay as smooth running as possible .i dont think you should have to run around the hotel looking for towels
On arrival, the hotel bar/restaurant was extremely busy as people arriving for one or two concerts and preparation for a wedding. One very pleasant and helpful girl was serving at the bar and taking orders for food on her own (roster mix up I think). She was brilliant under pressure. Overall experience was great and both staff and food was brilliant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, especially for concerts etc. as buses are available to and from the hotel.
Good value hotel . Stayed for two nights B and B with family. Pros: swimming pool cons: needs a fresh lick of paint .
Was not happy at all, we were put into 132 a smoking room and the smell of stale smoke was terrible, toilet seat hanging off and the smoke dector hanging off ceiling. The room was positioned over the ballroom and the noise was crazy. The hotel was busy when we arrived for breakfast there was not 1 clean table in the room I was shocked as the girl more or less pushed everything to one side gave table a quick wipe and sat us down. I did mention on check out how I felt. Linda Dolan
best hotel I've ever stayed in. staff brilliant. nice pool. kid friendly. food fantastic. easy parking. tasty beer. will def stay again.
A warm and friendly staff. Really enjoyed our weekend break.
Room was comfortable, Staff were friendly, Food was very nice - Overall a good experience.
Very nice hotel. The rooms were large and in great condition. Only ate breakfast in the hotel but that was very nice. Attempted to eat dinner in the hotel but this didn't work out. The restaurant seemed to be just a partitioned off part of the bar but when we asked if we could eat at a table six feet away from there, to watch a match on the bar TVs (in the same room) we were rudely told by a waiter "No! Dinner is only in here." Working in a hotel myself I was astounded at his reaction. We were then told by a waitress (politely it must be said) that our table would be five minutes. While we waited we sat at a bar table, in sight of the restaurant door, just feet away from it but 40minutes later we still weren't given a table so we left. Apart from this incident in the restaurant we had a very good stay. The staff were polite and helpful, with the obvious exception. I would definately stay here again, I just wouldn't visit the restuarant again.
Service in the restaurant for dinner was slow. No milk in our room, rang reception was told it would be dropped up, an hour later no sign of it, had to leave without.
I would not recommend this hotel, the bar staff was very ignorant the pool was not working the next morning without notice my two kids were very disapointed the food in the bistro was a very poor I am not a person who complains easly but I found this hotel very poor. I usually book with lidl breaks but this hotel will make me think twice in the future.
Had a nice one night stay over the Easter weekend. Staff were lovely & very helpful and the food was good. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool and it was lovely & warm. The only downfall is is that the room is very tired looking, could do with painting & some new furniture as it is quite shabby. The window in our bedroom was absolutely filthy as was the door handle, which could have been cleaned. Overall the stay was pleasant.
Staff are very friendly. Breakfast was all you could eat; cereals, fruit salads, breads & toasts, fried "Irish" breakfast, brewed coffee and tea. We booked this hotel because they have a kiddie pool and steam room. But we were informed that the leisure centre closes at 5.30 on Saturdays - so absolutely no use to us! I had emailed them to let them know we had 3 children travelling with us, and not the 2 on lidl's booking form. We arrived early on Saturday afternoon (2.30pm), in order to arrange the extra "camping bed". When we got to our room it was freezing cold - the latches on both windows were broken off and the windows could not be closed. So we asked for another room, and asked for the extra bed to be set up there. We then went off for the day. When we returned there was a terrible smell in the room - cigarette smoke mixed with something else!! We again asked to be moved to another room (btw Mary at reception was brilliant!). But as it was now so late there was no chance of getting the extra camping bed as they had all be allocated to other guests. This, despite repeatedly asking for it VERY EARLY in the day. The housekeeper pushed 2 beds together for the 3 children to sleep in. There was 1 towel in the bathroom for a family room. I couldn't log on to use the broadband in our room. My advice: go the extra 500 metres and stay in Bewleys for the same price. Cleaner, warmer, quieter and the sofa in their rooms pulls out for that extra child's bed.
Great......my kids loved the swimming pool water so warm. Breakfast lovely and the waitresses were very friendly. The family room so nice big and comfy .We were enjoyed staying there . Free parking. Eventhough the girl at reception not friendly, anyway ...Yeh! we love it and love to go back.
Booked this hotel with LIDL breaks. Had a great time and no problems whatsoever. Big buffet breakfast on both mornings, free use of leisure centre and pool, big spacious family rooms and near the luas at red cow. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would have no problems returning to this hotel.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Green Isle! Breakfast was delicious, and plenty to choose from. Rooms ate lovely, with a fridge which usually isnt available in other hotels. Swimming pool and gym are an added bonus. Check out is 11am though, not 12pm as this website says. We would go again :)
Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Food when it eventually arrived was very disappointing. Wouldnt stay there again.
The hotel was ok a bit dated , the television didn't work properply despite asking three times to have someone look at it the staff in the resteraunt were very nice .
FRANK D from KERRY Room nice ,clean and spacious, pity about service in the restaurant, long unacceptable wait to be served when main course arrived food cold had to send it back, staff friendly and apologetic for food condition, had to leave without tea/coffee because of slow service. Quiet clear not enough staff to deal with the requirments of the situation. No teapots available at breakfast had to transport tea in cup to table from a flask at end of dining room. Unfortunatelly the situation in the bar was mirror image of the restaurant and drinks way over priced. Would not recommend it.
We have stayed in this hotel now 3 times. Great value this time for a family room. At least this time we weren't charged for the towels to use the swimming pool, which occurred the last time. It was the only hotel we ever stayed in that charged for the towels!!!! Food ok. Rooms spacious and clean. Staff friendly. Will book again with todayfmbreaks. Hanrahan Family.
The rooms were comfortable and clean, however, the restaurant food was not of a high standard. We only ate there on the first night of our 4 night stay because of the food and service.
Enjoyed stay at the hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, room was big and airy with all modern conveniences. Would stay here again. Frances
Stayed in a large family room which was spacious and comfortable and great value for money and suited our needs perfectly. The corridors need renovating as the carpets are dirty and worn and bumpy which could lead to them being dangerous as you could trip on them. Pool area was clean and tidy and food was only ok. Ideal if only staying overnight but got great value for money on Lidl breaks offer. STAYED IN FEBRUARY 2011
Hotel is ideally located off the main Cork-Dublin road,2hrs 20 m from our front door to theirs.Staff are very friendly and really looked after us.Food was great and had a much better choice of dishes than I had when we where on our previous Lidl break, pool was fabulous and overall I would highly recommend this Hotel and will definitely go back!
No complaints, Lovely hotel... Definitely recommend !!
Service was quite good. Staff in dining area were particularly friendly and helpful. Overall not bad but some aspects of the interior were below par - broken glass in doors unrepaired, picture frames broken. Room was spacious, clean and warm.
it was a lovely place to stay very comfortable staff very helpful
Our room was comfortable but very noisy. There were children running up and down the corridor and alot of noise from people leaving the hotel. And our phone was broken so we couldnt contact reception!! However, I must complement Lidyl on your great offer and super shop! 2 stars
Excellent value for money and friendly staff. Some entertainment at night would have been good. Would stay here again and recommend to others.
The Green Isle Hotel was a lovely place,The room was nice and clean and mod.The pint was very good in the bar,and a lot of locals drink there which is a good sign. The staff all around the hotel were very pleasant. The steak dinner we had was just divine .All round very good for the price
good value for money ,but pity about the bar food, too many chiefs and not enougt help.
Ideal location for Croke Park. Rooms large and comfortable. Resturant busy but food excelent and staff most helpful. Overall-great value for money as we got dinner with the B/B. On the N7 so we were on the road back to Cork quickley.
The breakfast was fantastic and the staff very helpful but the room was soaked wet anytime you had a shower, the tiles in the bathroom was peeling too, we'll try another hotel next time.
I would recomend a lidl break in the Green Isle Hotel. The hotel is lovely and the staff could not be more helpful. When we arrived there was 4 commumions on and the staff where very busy but they still took the time to make you feel welcome. I would give the hotel (and the staff) 4 stars
I have stayed here a few times love it..? Food is delicious, staff are friendly and the rooms are very cosy.
